Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Design a $16,000 Fur Bag
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have designed a $16,000 fur bag, to join the ranks of their $39,000 alligator backpack.

In case you’re wondering who would ever spend that much on a bag designed by the chicks who were once on “Full House,” the answer is “a lot of people.”

When the Olsen twins first debuted their $39,000 alligator bag last year, it sold out immediately. Also, people regularly buy $100,000 Hermes Birkin bags, so dropping a ton of cash on a purse is not a big deal for some fashionistas.

Or as Ashley once said, “It [the alligator bag] was the first thing that sold off the shelf. During our last economic crisis in the U.S., the only thing that went up was Hermes.”

Rich people like handbags, is what I’m trying to emphasize.

Anyways, the new $16,000 bag is from their pre-fall 2012 collection for The Row. The new tote also comes in black shiny calf-skin, slate shiny alligator and black alligator.

Celebrity stylist turned designer Rachel Zoe is already a fan of the bag, she featured it in her newsletter writing, “Pretty in patchwork, The Row’s posh pack combines comfort and class. The fuzzy texture on this nifty knapsack is also a fashion favorite. Perfect for pre-fall, it’s never too soon to start thinking ahead for your next season’s staple!”
