It’s just like that song *sings* Ebony and Ivory, except not at all. The theme of this years red carpet was red and ivory.

Red on the red carpet is always a great go-to color on the carpet. My favorite leading man Colin Firth was there with his lovely wife Livia, who wore a Valentino red gown.

Natalie Portman wore red in a vintage Dior Couture gown. However, I kept thinking that something was missing this year, oh yeah, her baby bump.

Emma Stone wore a reddish fuchsia gown by Giambattista Valli Haute Couture with a giant bow on the neck. Her red dress looked great paired with her reddish hair.

Michelle Williams also walked the carpet in red in a very vintage inspired Louis Vuitton red gown.

Ivory was the other hot color this year. Octavia Spencer wore an ivory beaded gown by Tadashi Shoji.

Gwyneth Paltrow stunned in an ivory column dress and cape by Tom Ford. Cameron Diaz looked elegant in an ivory strapless gown with just a hint of petal pink.

Shailene Woodley wore ivory white in Valentino Couture and looked much older than her 20-years-of-age.

Rooney Mara went with a white Givenchy number for her red carpet look.

Jennifer Lopez rocked an ivory dress by Zuhair Murad that showed off her famous curves.

Ivory reigned supreme and literally no one wore a black dress…except for Angelina Jolie, but that’s because she’s Angelina Jolie and she can wear whatever she wants and still win best dressed. What did you think of all the Oscar dresses?
