Alexander McQueen Label to Continue On

Francois-Henri Pinault, head of the French luxury group PPR which controls McQueen's companies, spoke of his friend, calling him a "genius," a "friend" and a "poet" who was "hurt and lost in a world whose superficiality and lack of ideals he couldn't accept."
Robert Polet, president and chief executive officer of the Gucci Group, which has a majority stake in the McQueen line, said in a statement, “We believe in the future of the brand. Lee was very proud of the people working in his company, and so am I.”
The show for Alexander McQueen’s contemporary label, McQ, was canceled due to his sudden passing. However, the runway presentation for the Alexander McQueen collection will be held on March 9 during Paris Fashion Week.
We’re hoping they are able to keep the brand alive for Alexander’s sake.
