Who Said Athletes Don't Have Style?

The Espy Awards took place at the Staples Center yesterday. Sports figures are not really known for their fashion sense but tennis star Maria Sharapova clearly proved me wrong.

The Russian hottie walked the red carpet in a blue-feathered Alexander McQueen dress that showed off her seriously long legs. The dress was altered for Maria’s liking, as the original one seen on the runway was actually a long gown. I saw Maria on the red carpet yesterday and I spotted her from miles away because she was a) super tall and b) stunning.

Maria’s dress was from McQueen’s pre-fall 2011 collection. Another thing that really completed her look were the beautiful shoes. Any girl that ‘s a bit obsessed with shoes would DIE to own a pair of those.

The other two ladies might not be athletes, but they did get my vote on hottest looks of the red carpet.

Brooklyn Decker, who is a model, turned actress as well as a WAG looked great in her red leather Jay Ahr minidress. I would have liked to see her hair styled differently or even styled at all. The short messy look doesn’t do her any justice.

And finally I have to give Emmanuelle Chriqui from Entourage some love. She looked so classy in her timeless black strapless Hervé Léger by Max Azria dress with a flared skirt.

She added some color to her black ensemble by wearing red strappy heels. Very well done!
