The Golden Globes are tonight, the only awards show were TV and movie actors mix and mingle at large circle tables and gush to the Hollywood Foreign Press association. But enough about that, let’s focus on the dresses. From the couture Dior to the vintage Versace, this is the Golden Globes best dressed list.
Charlize Theron: Charlize Theron looks flawless in couture Dior. With a giant bow on the waist, a high leg slit, and a beaded headband, this woman can do no wrong. Notify me when Theron makes it onto the worst dressed list, oh wait, that’s NEVER going to happen.
Angelina Jolie: Jolie could wear sweats and still be sexier than Mila Kunis, Charlize Theron and Beyonce combined, so she did not disappoint in a sultry cream satin Atelier Versace gown with red accents. This woman is so regal, she’s like a limited edition 1950’s Barbie doll.
Sofia Vergara: She may be a, dare I say it, “television actress” but Sofia Vergara is making her way into the A-List ranks. In a mermaid silhouette by Vera Wang, the fishtail gown ended with an insane tail of beautiful blue ruched fabric.
Lea Michelle: Lea Michele usually wears Marchesa to her red carpet fetes and the Golden Globes was no different. This dress was part gladiator gown, part figure skating outfit with insane gold detailing. Also, Michele knows how to work a red-carpet, what is this, ANTM?
Jessica Alba: Didn’t she have a couple of kids, like yesterday? Somehow getting down to a size negative so quickly she made one of her first awards show appearances in a long while in a pale pink beaded gown by Gucci.
Stacy Keibler: This simple sleeveless dress in traditional Valentino red looks stunning on Keibler’s tall frame. However, as this former wrestler walks arm and arm with George Clooney, I can’t help but think that Keibler is the world’s luckiest former sorority girl.
Kelly Osbourne: As one of the E! Fashion correspondents, we can’t forget about Kelly Osbourne. She wore an aqua blue Zac Posen gown with intense shoulder pads and equally intense silk Taffeta fishtail bottom, it was just quirky and edgy enough and of course Kelly could pull it off like no one can.
Claire Danes: Claire Danes dazzled in a J.Mendel black and white backless gown. This is what I like to call an “over the shoulder” dress, as in, poor Claire Danes has to face backwards on the red carpet the whole night because the best part of the dress is its behind, which features mirror detailing on the extravagant straps and low waist.
Frieda Pinto: Wearing a strapless Prada that Pinto described as being “surprisingly very comfortable,” she paired the stunning dress yellow diamond bib necklace by Chopard.
Nicole Kidman: Looking like one of those Golden Globe statues herself, Nicole Kidman dressed up in a very glamorous Versace gown with gold detailing and intricate criss-cross straps. Also, forget about her botox face for a second because her hair and gown is beautiful.
Julie Bowen: Modern Family actress channeled old Hollywood glamour with this Reem Acra soft tulle gown. Bowen admitted this was the most feminine she’s ever dressed. The dress featured jeweled sleeves and a flowy pale pink gown.
Evan Rachel Wood: From far away, this Gucci Premiere gown is stunning. The sequined bodice features a plunging neckline and low-cut back. However, as you look closer, you realize that the gown was covered in actual bird feathers. They looked like crow feathers. Not only was this not PETA friendly, it kind of gave me the creeps, in a Tim Burton kind of way. Sorry Evan, you almost had it!
