Angelina Jolie Wears No Makeup For Louis Vuitton Ad

Jolie’s ad for LV is part of their “core values” campaign, which aims to show celebs toting their own LV bags in an attempt to widen their audience with a less high fashion centered brand and one focusing more on travel and craftsmanship.
For the Annie Leibovitz shot ad, Jolie wears her own casual clothes and carries her own personal 6 year-old Alto Vuitton bag.
The ad is set in Cambodia’s Siem Reap Province, where Jolie sits atop a wooden boat floating down the green marsh. What the camera doesn’t see are four of Jolie’s kids, just out of frame.
So why put a make-up free Jolie on a boat in Cambodia? Jolie first went to Cambodia in 2000 while filming Laura Croft: Tomb Raider and her son Maddox was born in Cambodia. “People are not used to seeing Angelina in this situation. I like the fact that it’s a real moment, this travel message we give through personal journeys is a fundamental one for the brand,” says Vuitton executive vice president Pietro Beccari of the actress.
Other celebs who have appeared in the “Core Values” campaign include Keith Richards, Sean Connery, Bono, and Catherine Deneuve.
Jolie was reportedly paid millions for the ad which she will donate a portion to charity. “This campaign is about a very special person and a very special journey,” notes Beccari.
The ad will debut Wednesday in the International Herald Tribune.
