Don’t worry PETA! You can put your stash of red paint and powder away, because Angelina Jolie is still an animal lover. She was recently photographed on the set of her movie Salt, wearing a chinchilla poncho and a matching Russian-style hat.

That was enough to send PETA into a frenzy. But movie execs were quick to defend the costume choice. They released a statement to the animal rights group ensuring them that it was faux fur. Rather than chinchilla, they said it was “synchilla.”

PETA breathed a big sigh of relief, taking to their blog to thank Angie for still committing to being anti-fur. We suppose she’s changed her ways in the last couple of years. Because according to Us Weekly, Jolie was spotted with son Maddox at the Edwards-Lowell fur boutique in Beverly Hills in November 2007.

It’s just easier for celebs to be anti-fur these days because PETA doesn't mess around if they do spot a celebrity wearing fur. And, like in Angie’s case, the faux material looks just like the real thing anyway!
