St. John Replaces Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie has been replaced! St. John has decided to part ways with the actress, who has been the face of the company since 2005. We’d heard rumors for years about the fashion brand wanting to replace Angie because she’s unrelatable to their clients, but now it’s finally happened.

CEO Glenn McMahon told WWD, “[Jolie] overshadowed the brand. We wanted to make a clean break from actresses and steer away from blondes and cleanse the palette.”

Angie has since been replaced by model Karen Elson, a redhead who is married to White Stripes singer Jack White. McMahon added, "We needed to show a modern point of view of St. John. We have evolved.”

We’re glad the company took this step! It seems like every ad in a magazine these days features a celebrity!
