Designer Anna Sui has drawn from the fashion of the Upper East siders to create a new line for Target.
Anna told Women’s Wear Daily, “When I was in Asia last year, all the young girls kept asking me about the different locations in New York City where the characters from Gossip Girl live.”
She added, "I have always been a fan of designer partnerships with mass retailers. I think it is a great way to bring fashion to everyone. It is an exciting challenge to try and interpret my aesthetic into a mass-produced product with a specific international source as the focus."
And it definitely helps that the Gossip Girl cast is a big fan of Sui’s. Taylor Momsen and Jessica Szohr sat front row at her last fashion show. Szohr said, "I'm a big fan of Anna Sui and I became a fan of hers through working on the show. Every time I'd be in a fitting and try something on, they would tell me [it was] her. I like her."
The line will to hit 250 select Target Stores across the U.S. on September 13th and run through October 17th.

Sui stuck to her basic black, with heavy patterns overlapping. Just in time for fall, Sui packed in some great wool pieces, not to mention some serious boots for kicking around the leaves. But this collection was very much in keeping with the economic times.
Sui stated that her fabric choices were key in making sure all of her designs stayed within a certain price point, but one would have never known.
The Anna Sui girl is a little cooler than the rest and there is no doubt she will love this latest collection. See y'all in the fall ladies!

Designer Anna Sui is heading west with her Fall 2008 collection. The fashion show took place yesterday during New York fashion week and this had to be Anna's most exciting show.
Anna might have been hanging out at an Indian reservation since her creations looked liked outfits worn by the American Indians of the Pacific Northwest. From the color schemes, velvet flower headpieces, beaded necklaces, and paisley tights everything looked American Indian inspired.
Stars at the show included Riley Keough, Russell Simmons, Vincent Gallo, and Ally Hilfiger among others.
