Twilight Star, Ashley Greene, though I can hardly call her a "star" she has like 5 lines of dialogue in all the movies combined, has just been announced as the new face of DKNY and DKNY Jeans. Ashley will appear in the brands' Spring 2012 ad campaigns.

The are apparently trying to modernize their brand by fronting the label with a young actress and using formats like Twitter to spread news about the brand.

"Ashley embodies everything DKNY - her energy, her spirit, her eclectic personal style. She is on the forefront of what it means to connect with a global fan base through social media, a focus that is aligned with our digital and new media initiatives" says Donna Karran vice president Patti Cohen.

Well, we know that Ashley is a pro at social media, look at these fantastic tweets, "Early Grey flavored ice cream may be my new favorite thing...Ever." Wow, earth shattering stuff guys.

Ashley was also the recent cover girl for Allure magazine and for today and tomorrow she is "guest-editing" the Allure Facebook page, meaning that she's answering fan questions and reminding people that Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 1 opens on November 18, 2011.

But back to the thing about modeling for DKNY. Here's what Ashley has to say about it, "I've always loved Donna Karan's creations. To be a part of the brands' message is incredibly exciting because it feels like such an organic fit."

Ashley is a great fit for the brand, because she looks like a model anyways but says she'll never be super skinny. "A lot of people like to be super tiny, but I don't want a child's body - I want a woman's body that is extremely fit. It's so much sexier."

Ashley also mentions why she loves DKNY clothing, because they are great for jet-setting, "It's easy to talk about how these clothes work for my lifestyle, whether I'm in New York, L.A. or traveling for work."

Speaking of New York and Twilight cast members, Ashley and her fellow vampire star, Kellan Lutz share a place in NY together. No, they aren't lovers or besties, they share a place together so that they can both be bi-coastal and both just live at the apartment whenever they are in town.

"We're never here at the same time but we both love New York," says Kellan Lutz, "So we'd be roommates without being roommates...more like housemates!"
