Prada CEO to Work For Olsen Twins
You know that movie, “From Prada to Nada?” This is just like that.

The US President and CEO of Prada will now go work for the Olsen twins for their label The Row.

Mary-Kate told WWD that they are trying to expand the brand and decided to go with the best, so they chose Francois Kress, “He quickly became the obvious choice for us and for the brand, having experience in multiple categories which we feel is essential for growth of The Row.”

Kress has worked for the Bulgari Corporation and LVMH (who own Moet, Hennessy and Louis Vuitton, to name a few) in addition to working at Prada. Now his bosses are two 25-year-old girls. Cool, is that what they call a lateral move? Or is it a “I used to work for Prada and now I work for Dualstar” move? Also, the Olsen’s twins overarching company for all their ventures is STILL Dualstar Entertainment Group. The same company that once churned out straight-to-video gems like “Brother For Sale” and “Billboard Dad.”

But back to the fashion. Ashley chimed in on their decision to hire Kress, “His experience and sensibility will add great value to The Row in its next phase of development.”

The Row was created in 2007 as an attempt to create the perfect T-shirt and someone morphed overnight into a luxury brand of simple yet sleek designs, sunglasses and handbags. The twins also own labels Elizabeth and James and Olsenboye. The Row, Elizabeth and James and Olsenboye, together are a three-tiered fashion brand just like Banana Republic, The Gap, and Old Navy. It’s just like that.
