Blake Lively New Face of Gucci Fragrance
Blake Lively has just landed herself a new modeling gig. Following up her stint as the face of Chanel Mademoiselle handbags, Blake is the new face of Gucci Premiere, the fashion house’s newest female fragrance.

I wonder if Blake agreed to the job because the short film/commercial for the fragrance was directed by Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn? The fragrance short film is such a big deal that it will even have it’s own premiere. It will be screened during a special event at the Venice Film Festival on September 1st, 2012.

Blake Lively released in a statement, “It is a pleasure to collaborate with [Gucci Creative Director] Frida Giannini. I admire the qualities of the Gucci Premiere woman and feel honored to represent the fragrance.”

Frida Giannini says the perfume is supposed to be an updated version of classic Hollywood glamour.

“In conceiving this fragrance I was inspired by timeless Hollywood glamour and the iconic leading ladies of Hollywood’s golden era. Blake’s unique style and charisma brings that allure to life in a very contemporary way,” says Giannini.

Giannini also adds that she chose Blake for the campaign because “she is a girl of extraordinary beauty and she’s a girl who loves fashion. She has great taste in clothes.”

The print campaign was shot by famed fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. Blake will reportedly be posing in a backless dress covered in sequins, her hair styled in a retro fashion.

Gucci Premiere will hit store next month. The scent itself has top notes of bergamot and orange blossom, a heart of white flowers and musk, and a base cocktail of leather and wood. The bottle, which Giannini designed, apparently “drips with gold and heritage details and looks like a fashion accessory,” and will set you back between $63 and $105, depending on the size.
