Cannes Film Festival has just kicked off and like any other film festival; it brings out fashion’s elite. Here are the best-dressed stars from today’s opening ceremony (5.16.12) and yesterday’s specific film openings (5.15.12).

Eva Longoria: You could get married in this dress! Eva Longoria attended the opening ceremony in this stunning blush tulle Marchesa gown. The dress featured a nearly 4ft ruffled train and hand embroidered crystal detailing.

Lana Del Rey: Lana Del Rey is such a fashion hit-or-miss, actually no, she just looks eerie and gothic most of the time, but today she looks simple and demure and very pretty in this strapless black Alberta Ferretti gown.

Jessica Chastain: Jessica Chastain dresses like a milkmaid at every red carpet event. She’s gorgeous but wears the most conservative dresses. She walked the carpet in this light pink Alexander McQueen gown with pockets.

Tilda Swinton: Tilda Swinton ditched the capes and pantsuits and for the first time ever, dressed like a lady. There to support her new film “Moonrise Kingdom”, the actress wore a periwinkle skirt and rose-colored blouse by Haider Ackermann. Today she changed into a copper gown by the same designer, which featured a huge fanned bodice and floor length pencil gown.

Diane Kruger: Diane Kruger is a member of the Cannes jury and wore an aqua custom silk Grecian style gown by Giambattista Valli. A combination of the color and the draping of the fabric and the way the wind caught in her dress made her like a French Riviera mermaid!

Freida Pinto: What’s Freida Pinto up to lately? Looking fabulous, apparently? She wore this light pink Michael Angel dress with huge leg slit and intricately beaded and sequined bodice.

Berenice Bejo: “The Artist” actress served as the Master of Ceremony for the event and stood out in this silk mousseline multi-layered gown red gown by Louis Vuitton. This dress is like the better version of the red LV dress that Michelle Williams wore to the Oscars.
