Cate Blanchett

All award shows throughout the season lead up to the biggest night in entertainment, which are the Oscars.

Oscar fashion is very important and unfortunately the red carpet this year had one too many fashion atrocities.

There were definitely more than the six I picked, but these ladies were the worst in my opinion.

• Nicole Kidman- You would think Dior Couture would look a bit nicer than this, right? Nicole told Hollyscoop that her daughter Sunday Rose picked out her outfit, which was cute, but clearly a mistake.



• Marisa Tomei- Oh where to begin! The 1950 couture Charles James dress from Lily et Cie looked as if an amateur seamstress worked on the bottom part on to the dress last minute. And her dress wasn't the only thing that looked bad, her hair was pretty bad too. It was definitely an off-day for Marisa Tomei.



• Scarlett Johansson- It's a good thing Scarlett is beautiful because this Dolce & Gabanna dress was wrong, wrong, wrong. It looked as if her black underwear and bra were showing with in that dress. Her stylist should be fired immediately!



• Michelle Williams- That Chanel Haute Couture gown that Michelle wore on the carpet was not the best dress for her because it was not form fitting. She looked a bit too boyish and the dress was a bit too loose on her. She could have had someone taken it in a little more to show off her figure.



• Helena Bonham Carter- I have to admit, Helena toned it down a lot for the Oscars, but unfortunately still made it on the worst dressed list. She told Hollyscoop that she wore the dress because the bustle cover her big butt.



• Cate Blanchett- Cate looked as if she was on the set of one of the period pieces she’s always filming. The Givenchy Haute Couture gown was a big flop, but her hair and makeup looked great!

The red carpet got very A-list in Hollywood last night at the premiere of "The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button."

Brangelina hit the red carpet in their usual looks...sadly no surprises there. Brad looked dapper in a classic tuxedo. Angelina Jolie looking a little, shall we say, boring in a black Versace dress. Her make up was so minimal that it looked as if she had none. Adding a little, but not enough sparkle, her earrings were vintage Ralph Lauren.

The real scene stealer of the night though goes to the always perfect Cate Blanchett. The star chose to custom make a runway look to fit her needs. And we are very glad she did! Cate rocked the red carpet in a knock out Alexander McQueen. Blanchett looked amazing and the dress brought some much needed bling to the red carpet. The bell shaped dress was dripping in metallic accents, and was a modification of McQueens Spring 2009 version. The only problem we really had with the dress was the nude colored tight slip she was wearing underneath. It looked like she had forgotten to push up her spanks. Not to be out done Jennifer Lopez also got in on the fashion act, showing off her twins at the premiere. The new momma wore a creme satin dress with sparkly clutch. This premiere had enough star wattage to light up yo' Christmas tree!

The Cannes Film Festival is well under way and the stars are heating up the red carpet. Our favorite girl Eva Longoria looked stunning in her turquoise Versace Haute Couture gown. The dress looked amazing on Eva’s fit body and we give this look an A+.

Another star that caught our attention was Mischa Barton. She may be getting bad press about those cellulite shots, but she’s getting good press from us for her navy blue Alberta Ferretti gown.

Actress Cate Blanchett is also in town promoting her latest flick "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.” Cate, who always looks amazing, opted for a nude Armani Prive ruffled dress.

Purple seemed to be a big hit on the carpet as Film Festival jury member Natalie Portman chose a dark purple Lanvin dress and supermodel Bar Rafaeli chose a classic light purple gown.

The stars made their way to the "Blindness" movie premiere, which stars Julianne Moore, Alice Braga, Yoshino Kimura, Danny Glover, Gael Garcia Bernal and Yusuke Iseya.
