Kate Winslet Dress Sells for $40,000

A dress designed by Vivienne Westwood for actress Kate Winslet sold for $40,000 at an auction. Kate auctioned off her dress in an effort to raise money for 'Cardboard Citizens,' a homeless people's theatre company.

She says, "Vivienne Westwood created the dress especially for me for this occasion and it is a really beautiful piece. I hope the winning bidder enjoys wearing it as much as I did."

Winslet is an ambassador for the charity so raising that much money was definitely an accomplishment for her. The dress that was auctioned off was a red Vivienne Westwood dress that Winslet wore at a benefit, before auctioning the outfit at the end of the night. Kudos to Kate!
