Cheryl is following in pal Fergie’s footsteps—literally—and starting her own shoe collection. She’s teamed up with fashion website StylistPick.com to create the limited edition footwear line, which will hit stores just in time for Christmas.
Stylist Pick's chief creative officer, Juliet Warkentin said. "We are thrilled to be working with Cheryl. Cheryl is the style icon and is amazingly warm, a quality that has made her the nation's favorite. We believe that the launch will have a huge fashion impact; establishing fashion's greatest influencer as a major force in fashion design and further democratising fashion."
So what will her shoe line look like? It’ll be “glamorous” but affordable. Who doesn’t love that? She’s reportedly even overseeing "every step of the process, from concept to design and packaging.”
And when she said she’s involved, she means it! She’ll also be available to offer style tips for users. As long as you create a profile online, you can ask Cheryl to help you pick out the perfect shoe. That’s enough to make me want to try it out.
Lets just hope she actually wears some of the shoes she designs. Kim Kardashian lends her face and name to ShoeDazzle and has her own line of footwear at Sears but never, ever, ever wears her own shoes. She wouldn’t be caught dead in them. She’s always sporting the latest Louboutin’s even while doing promos for her shoe line. Why would I buy her shoes if she won’t even wear them while promoting them?
Say what you will about Paris Hilton or Jessica Simpson, but they’re always decked out in their own collection. Whether they’re doing press tours or just hanging out, they’re always wearing something from their own line. And most of the time they make it look so great, I’ve even purchased a Jessica Simpson handbag and wedges after seeing them on her. It’s how it works people.
Wearing her own collection may contribute to why Jessica’s line is so popular. Between jeans, shoes, handbags and accessories, her fashion empire is worth almost a billion dollars. Yes, billion with a B.
How do you feel about celebs that endorse products they never use? Isn’t it a bit of a sham? Or do you not care as long as you like it? Let us know your thoughts!
