Dior Announces New Artistic Director – Raf Simons
After John Galliano went crazy and was fired as artistic director last year, Dior has had a hard time filling his shoes.

Names like Marc Jacobs, Alber Elbaz, and Haider Ackermann were all thrown around but apparently it’s hard to replace a crazy anti-semite. Who knew!?

Anyways, Raf Simons has been unveiled as Dior’s new artistic director. Simons was formerly the creative director at Jil Sander, but quit in February after presenting his final show at Milan Fashion Week for Fall/Winter 2012/2013.
Paris Fashion Week: Christian Dior Fall 2012-2013
Paris Fashion Week is well underway and Christian Dior showed a spotless and nearly perfect collection that lived up to the brands legacy.

However, this Ready-To-Wear collection showed a more wearable side to the brand, thanks in part to designer Bill Gaytten, who showed his second collection with the brand since the dreaded Galliano scandal a year ago.

Mila Kunis Named New Face of Christian Dior
French fashion house Christian Dior has named Mila Kunis as their new spokesperson and face of their spring fashion campaign. After they saw her "remarkable" performance in "Black Swan" they knew they wanted her for the ads. That and, Natalie Portman already did a campaign for Dior.

It was her performance in "Black Swan" that convinced Dior that Kunis was more than just "that girl from 'That 70's Show.'"

What about her performance in "Friends With Benefits," because I thought it was breathtaking.
Christian Dior Haute Couture Show a Big Disappointment
Haute Couture Fashion Week is always so amusing. Some Most of the stuff that you see come down the runway are just ridiculous.

Haute Couture is more of artwork than something you would see someone wearing.

Christian Dior had its Autumn/Winter 2011-2012 runway show during Paris Fashion Week and this was the first couture show without former designer John Galliano.

John Galliano Shows Up to Court Wearing No Shirt, Just Jacket
Ex Dior designer/comic book villain John Galliano went on trial Wednesday after being charged with shouting anti-Semitic slurs in a Paris café back in February.

Galliano has expressed his apologies for the incident, but was immediately fired from the French fashion house.

The British designer has been out of the public eye for months, but showed up to a gilded courtroom at the Justice Palace wearing a black polka dot handkerchief, as well as his familiar pencil-thin mustache and long hair. Hey, at least it wasn't a skin-tight white minidress.
Charlize Theron Selling Watches

Charlize Theron announced she'll be working with Dior as the face of their Dior VIII watch collection. Perhaps the bigger story here is that people are still wearing watches.

"I didn’t even wear a watch for like ten years and only two years ago did I start wearing [one] again,” Theron said. “I really missed it as a piece of jewelry.”

Theron first signed on with Dior to represent their J'adore fragrace.
Natalie Portman Strapped For Cash
Natalie Portman was just announced as the new face of Parfums Christian Dior.

The recession must be affecting Natalie Portman if she is taking this gig.

On many occasions Natalie has talked smack about celebs that do endorsement deals.

Natalie Portman Is Ready for Motherhood

“I don’t have a problem with making money, but I don’t believe in doing something you don’t believe in to make money,” Portman has previously said. “Like a makeup campaign or something like that - the opportunities that young actors have all the time.”

This is the first time Natalie has agreed to do an endorsement deal with a fragrance/cosmetics company.

Natalie joins fellow ambassadors including, Sharon Stone, Charlize Theron, Monica Bellucci, Jude Law and Alain Delon.
Charlize Theron Defends Her Dior Oscar Gown
One of the standout dresses on the red carpet last night was the one Charlize Theron chose. But despite all the attention, it has made any of the best-dressed lists today!

The former Oscar-winner has come under fire for her John Galliano for Dior lavender frock with rosette detailing over the bust line. E! said of the gown, "Almost every year somebody wears something off-the-wall crazy to the Oscars, and this year the unfortunate honor goes to Charlize Theron. Yep, those are her lady lumps wrapped in lilac rosettes, courtesy of Dior Haute Couture. This one's going down in the history books along with the swan dresses and pirate costumes."

AOL added, “We can't quit staring, and it pulls away from what we should be looking at: her face.”

The Vancouver Sun commented, “There will lots of giggling in the week to come at Charlize Theron, whose Dior gown had rosettes on the breasts bordering on the burlesque.”

But Charlize didn’t seem put off by the criticism, telling Us Weekly, "I just loved this dress!"

As for Hollyscoop’s take on the gown, we could have done without the Cinnabons, but the shape was great for her. It’s hard for Charlize not to look good, and despite the bad reviews, we saw far worse dresses on the red carpet yesterday than hers!

Sex Sells During Paris Fashion Week
Paris Fashion week is well underway. Many critics were curious what designers would display as designer labels have become taboo in these harsh economic times.

During World War 2, the Godmother of fashion Coco Chanel was forced to shut down her store in Paris due to low sales. It’s 2009 and although designers aren’t shutting down their fashion houses, they are finding creative ways to lure clients, sex.

Traditional lines like Valentino, known to exuberate class, are now taking a trendy and sexier route. Designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, Valentino's former accessory designers, had a hard entry into the haute culture after Valentino Garavani’s retirement. Seems like they are sticking with the times and going short, sexy and see-through. For Valentino, lace is the new red.

Even red carpet king Giorgio Armani is bringing sexy back from the dead. The designer opted for a sexy low-neck drop gown that can make any busty girl reveal all. Even Bridal gowns are getting sexified, as Givenchy displayed in its collection.

John Galliano displayed his collection for Christian Dior at the Dior headquarters in the Avenue Montaigne to show almost in the way the clothes were traditionally presented to clients and the press in the 1950's. Dior took his inspiration from the past and added some sexy flare as he designed some sexy see-through skirts fit for a Queen, of pop that is. Expect to see Madonna in some of his gear.

Meanwhile Jean Paul Gaultier pulled a Lady Gaga on us as he displayed leotards as formal gowns. Better start working on that epilator machine at the gym girls. Time to get those thighs of steel.

Galliano Wants You To Show your Underwear
Leave it to John Galliano to push fashion to the edge. The designer unveiled his Spring 09 collection for Christian Dior at Paris Fashion week where he took his show back to the 80’s. The line made us reminisce the famous edgy collections made by Gianni Versace during his glory days in fashion.

One thing is for sure, Galliano wants you to show a lot of skin, hence the under garment showing through the transparent skirts. Other big trends we saw on the catwalk were sheer skirts, corseted waists, pointy bras, Lycra leggings, and flippy dresses. Make sure to go bright as the designer unveiled hot pink, orange and yellow as his colors for Spring!
