Christian Louboutin’s current shoe exhibit at the Design Museum in the UK is the museums most popular exhibit of all-time.

910 shoe-obsessed visitors pack into the exhibit everyday. Since the showcase opened on May 1, the showcase has attracted 38,000 shoe fans. Even more than the Manolo Blahnik exhibit in 2003 and Hussein Chalayan: From Fashion And Back in 2009.

But for the famed shoe designer himself, he’s just happy to see all his shoes in one place, or as he calls it “his babies.”

“It’s been a real pleasure to see a lot of my ‘babies’ featured all together for the first time,” said Louboutin, “It’s not only an entire collection of shoes that I saw there, but for me a huge collection of souvenirs, precious moments, and very rarely sorrows.”

The retrospective features all his iconic shoes, from his spiked sole heels, his eight-inch towering ballet pumps, and all the heels that appeared in his Yves Saint Laurent final catwalk show.

The display is only open for another three weeks and the museum is hosting late-night opening just to accommodate the insane demand to come see this shoe retrospective.

“I am so thrilled at the overwhelming response to this exhibition,” says exhibit curator, “With their instantly recognizable glossy red soles, Christian Louboutin’s shoes have become such an important part of the fashion landscape. Louboutin has built one of the most successful shoe brands in the world…”

In related news, Kim Kardashian owns 224 pairs of Louboutins.

Why don’t they move the exhibit into her closet?
