Christian Louboutin Explains Why Women Wear Painfully High Heels
October 17, 2011 by: PAULENE BROOKS

Christina Louboutin himself has finally explained why his heels are so uncomfortable. Ok, he hasn’t really explained why his shoes are uncomfortable in particular, but he’s explained why high heels are uncomfortable in general.
He explained to the Sunday Times newspaper: "There is an element of seduction in shoes that doesn't exist for men. Think about Marlene Dietrich crossing her legs - the whole attitude. The language starts with the shoe and radiates over the whole body. A woman can be sexy, charming, witty or shy with her shoes. Shoes for men are about elegance or wealth; they are not playing with the inner character.
"That's why women are happy to wear painful shoes. For some a little discomfort is balanced by something else, which has to do with desire. You feel yourself, empower yourself, know yourself. You are aware of your body. This little act of discomfort pays off in lots of other ways."
This discomfort pays off in a lot of ways? Sure it does! It looks great when you are wearing them for a few hours, but the aftermath is NOT pretty. The extra bump that’s permanently grown on your pinky toe is not sexy. The blisters on the bottom of your feet are not sexy. The burning sensation on the big toe is not sexy! And since when does my big toe have a heartbeat? Oh that's right, since I started wearing Louboutins. But we will still wear them because like Louboutin says, when you are wearing them, they make you feel more than sexy.
Louboutin is launching a book to celebrate his 20 years in fashion and he has previously said that he measures how good his shoes are by how they look on a naked woman.
He said: "The ultimate must still look good when a woman is naked. The design that encapsulates my career is the Pigalle, a low-cut, high-heeled pump. It's so subtle in that it adds something sexy to the body, but you don't immediately know that it's the shoe that is making the difference."
Umm, his shoes definitely look good on naked women, hence why they must always stay on….if you catch my drift.
