Christian Louboutin Opening Men's Store in NYC

Did you know that Christian Louboutin made men's shoes? Well, he does, and while it's only a small budding portion of the great Louboutin juggernaut, he's ready to open his second men's store in New York.

The mens shoes include flamboyant high-top'd sneakers and also some very sleek dress shoes. Mostly they are worn by Kanye West and maybe the cast of The A-List: New York. However, as of yet, Louboutin shoes for men don't really hold the same cultural jealousy that the women's shoes do. Let's just say that no dudes are kicking up their heels so that their friends will be jealous upon sighting their red soles.

"The men's shoes only represent a small portion of the business at present but we think it has huge potential for the future We are very happy to have found a location in New York, especially one so close to our current downtown women's boutique. The store opening in New York is an important step for Christian and for the company," says Alexis Mourot, chief operating officer.

Currently Louboutin has a mens store in Paris, where customers can get their new shoes tattooed, but why would you want to ruin a perfectly good pair of Louboutin's with a tattoo?

The Paris store is reportedly doing well, selling about 25 pairs of shoes a day. Louboutin himself tells WWD that the men "come in and they say, 'What do you have with studs?" as the most iconic mens Louboutin is a flat dress shoe that is covered in studs. It's like armor for your foot, but it will cost you about a grand.
