Let’s get some shoes!
Footwear guru Christian Louboutin is launching a capsule collection of extraordinary new shoes to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his label.
"In France, 20 years defines a generation," Louboutin said. "This is a celebration of the first generation of this brand; an anniversary of its first young adventure."
The collection is not yet available for purchase, but the Christian Louboutin Facebook page shows the full range of what you can expect. With 26 pieces, including 20 shoes and six bags, the collection is inspired by what Marie Claire magazine calls “a mixture of cabaret, travel and architecture,” all of which come together to form the iconic themes Christian’s design.
The Louboutin Facebook page allows users to sign up to receive email invites to shop the collection once it becomes available online.
On Monday, February 27th, Selfridges will be launching a pop-up store where shoe aficionados will be able to purchase from the capsule collection. Some highlights of the collection include ‘The Pensee’, a flapper-inspired pump with a quirky flower fastened on the side. Featured in yellow, The Pensee is also expected to come in a variety of other bright colors. ‘The Bois Dore’ is another highly anticipated item in the collection. The pump looks like a standard black Louboutin shoe except for the gaudy, chunky gold heel. It will undoubtedly be one of the most sought-after items in the capsule collection.
"Each style included in this special collection is rich with history, full of life and carries with it a unique story of creation and inspiration," a statement by the brand read. "These styles are moments in the life and evolution of a designer, the women who covet these objects of desire and the flourishing brand which is instantly recognizable by its unmistakable red soles."
