Christian Louboutin to Create a Cinderella Glass Slipper
Christian Louboutin is going to make his own version of Cinderella’s glass slipper. My only question: Will it still have a red sole? Because how will I ever be able to identify the Louboutin glass slipper from all the other glass slippers in the shoe market!?!?!? #FirstWorldProblems

The Louboutin shoe will be released to commemorate the re-release of “Cinderella” on Blu-ray and DVD later this year.

“I have been so lucky to have crossed paths with Cinderella, an icon who is so emblematic to the shoe world as well as the dream world,” says Louboutin.

Just in case you’ve never seen Cinderella, first of all: What’s wrong with you? But also, here’s Cinderella in a nutshell: Cinderella wore glass slippers to the ball, danced with Prince Charming, but then ran home when the clock struck midnight, leaving one of her shoes behind. Then Prince Charming used the missing shoe to find Cinderella by trying the shoe on the foot of every woman in the city until it led him to Cinderella.

The fact that the shoe was made of glass was pretty arbitrary. Cinderella could have worn regular stilettos and Prince Charming still would have found her. Anyways, glass is romantic!

No idea if Louboutin’s shoe will be wearable or more of a trophy shoe, but it’s still a really cool thing to think about.

This isn’t the first Disney-designer collaboration. Disney and Alfred Angelo teamed up on a line of wedding dresses inspired by Disney princesses. There’s also a line of Disney princess engagement rings.
