What inspire you to create your collections?
Each season it is different. It can be the fabrics, it can be an interesting era, it can be inspired from my travels……it is always something different and new.
Do you have certain celebs in mind when making your gowns?
I really try to think of designing clothing that looks great and flatters most women’s bodies. When I am working on gowns for red carpet season I look at things differently in terms of drama, silhouette, how a color will photograph etc.
Tell us your first reaction when you saw (a certain celeb) wearing your dress on a red carpet?
The first celebrity was Sharon Stone. She wore a nude lame halter gown. When I saw her in it ……………it was like holy shit!!!! Couldn’t ask for anything more!!!!!
What is a big trend we can expect from your collection in Fall?
I tried a lot of interesting new silhouettes for Fall that are quite interesting. Stretch taffeta, sequins ,velvet and feather trims are all important as well.
What are the do's and don'ts of fashion?
There are so many. Don’t squeeze into clothes that are too small. Stay away from trends that don’t work for your age or body type. Do be open to trying new things.
Best fashion tip for anyone to look like a red carpet star?
Fit and the correct undergarments. You need to feel comfortable and confident in what you are wearing even if it is bare and sexy.
Does the look in the mirror and take off one accessory rule still imply in 2010?
Always …..less is more. One great accessory is always better than many insignificant little ones. Go for one strong statement making accessory.
Who was your favorite designer that has influenced you?
Halston is my all time favorite! Simple, modern and sexy!!!!!!
