Diane von Furstenberg Fall 2012 Collection at NY Fashion Week
Diane von Furstenberg is known for her iconic wrap dress and during her runway show at New York Fashion week she debuted the “wrap jumpsuit.”

Proving that a wrap never goes out of style and looks great on any figure, DVF reinvented the old wrap dress into a series of jumpsuits, one as a halter in pomegrante and teal, another in pale pink and paired with a long burgundy trenchcoat, and another as a one sleeved romper in teal and black.

Nothing is more exciting than hearing about fashion designers collaborating with big chains to make more affordable clothes.

The latest union is between Diane Von Furstenberg and Gap Kids. This isn’t the first time this rumor has come around, but apparently it’s actually going to happen sooner than later.
Diane von Furstenberg for Gap?

Rumor on the fashion block is that Diane Von Furstenberg is in talks for a collaboration with Gap Kids.

Doesn’t really do much for me since I don’t have kids, but I’m sure moms will be excited to dress their kids up in DVF for Gap.

Gap Kids had previously teamed up with Stella McCartney for a collaboration and it was a huge success.

According to sources, the collection will hit stores later this year.

Bold prints and wrap dresses for kids? Maybe, I just might buy and save some DVF for Gap for the kids I plan on having in the future.
Spotted: Celebs at Fashion's Night Out NYC
As if celebrities need another excuse to shop! But put a cool title on the night, and they're sure to show up in droves. It's officially Fashion Week in New York, and kicking off the fabulous-ness was Fashion's Night Out, a "global celebration of fashion."

In an initiative to promote retail, restore consumer confidence, and celebrate fashion, Vogue coordinated an evening extravaganza in the Big Apple. Celebs came out of the woodwork to be a part of the festivities, from Gwen Stefani, to Victoria Beckham, to Justin Timberlake, they were all out and about to show their support to the "cause."

It was definitely no night to stay in, with celebs like Rihanna rocking the latest in couture fashion. She made an appearance at the Giuseppe Zanotti Boutique, sporting some dark black futuristic shades,a black hooded dress and studded ankle boots. She then moved on to star-favorite store Intermix, where she was seen with pal Katy Perry and Gossip Girl Michelle Trachtenberg.

And they're not the only three who took advantage of a night of shopping. Here's what a few other celebs told WWD:

Camilla Belle: “Driving up here, every single store had a line outside. It’s obviously working.”

Donna Karan: “I was just here at Saks looking for some things from my own line that I wanted to buy and they were sold out. I have to start making sure I order things for myself. I am shopping — isn’t that what you’re supposed to do?”

Justin Timberlake: “I don’t know why I always go for a sports analogy, but this is a win-win.” As for that other notable sporting news in town — Derek Jeter’s pursuit of Lou Gehrig, “In the age when so many of them get help, he’s the golden child, the ambassador of clean baseball.”

Diane Von Furstenberg: “There’s so much partying I don’t know how much business we’ll do. But it’s about building excitement…and celebrating.”

Michael Kors: “I’m a black belt shopper and I’ve been known to shop in the craziest of circumstances. I’m going on three stops [tonight] so I might have to put on a wig and sneak away to buy something.”

Sounds like an incredible evening! And with most of these celebs probably not looking at pricetags, we're sure they helped give the retail economy a little boost!
Diane von Furstenberg is all about the Big Hats!
Diane Von Furstenberg’s Fall 2009 collection was an eclectic mix of serious fabrics, daring prints, and recurring pompom hats. It was a strong collection, considering the economic times. The collection strutted down the runway bringing a mix of boho chic, with a dash of seventies glamour.

DVF layered heavy embroideries on top of busy patterns. The collection relied heavily on the use of camouflage and leopard prints. The prints could have seemed slightly outdated coming down a different runaway but Von Furstenberg had a fresh approach.

Most of the looks from the collection were paired with leggings: a trend that clearly doesn’t want to go away. For eveningwear, Diane chose a sleek dress in velvet leopard and another option in metallic. And then there were the hats. Each look was paired with a hat that was practically drowning in oversized pompoms. It takes a unique woman to brave the look, but an even bolder one to create it.

Fashion designers Diane von Furstenberg and the late Liz Claiborne are both being honored for their contribution to the world of fashion by being honored with their own spots on the Fashion Walk of Fame on Seventh Avenue.

Upon receiving the award, Von Furstenberg said, "A little bit over three decades ago, I came to New York with a few little dresses I had made in a tiny suitcase and a child in my belly. I was terrified of Seventh Avenue."

"It's an honor to get this from the very neighborhood that intimidated me so much."

Claiborne's widower, Art Orenberg accepted her award on her behalf.
Diane Von Furstenberg Artsy Ad

Diane Von Furstenberg has a brand new ad campaign since relaunching her label a decade ago. So she went big with it! Lots of colors, which suggests her Spring '08 line will be bold and fun.

For the shoot, Diane hand-picked French artist François-Marie Banier to photograph Natalia Vodianova on the streets of Paris on a rainy day, and then in a Manhattan studio.

There was no fashion stylist, no hair stylist, and no make-up artist... just Natalia picking out her own clothes and modeling them. Banier transformed the black and white images into this colorful masterpiece. Now we just need to see the clothes!
