Dolce & Gabbana Always Wanted to Be Like Chanel

After announcing that Dolce & Gabbana just shut the doors on it’s D&G line, the duo, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana says this is better for branding, unlike other big fashion houses with off-shoots of their brands, Dolce & Gabbana says they will be more recognizable without the “D&G” moniker.

“D&G will still exist,” they explain, “but as the logo of Dolce & Gabbana.”

They also take a slight dig at other monogrammed labels.

“Like the LV of Louis Vuitton, or the double C’s of Chanel. When we die, we want to leave something very recognizable. If you want to make something for the rest of your life, you need to make one, not two, “ says the designers.
Dolce & Gabbana is Ending Its D&G Line

After 20 years of producing the edgier more youthful D&G brand, Italian fashion house designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have decided to call it quits on D&G.

The Dolce & Gabbana brand is known for their glamorous Mediterranean style and wants to focus on enriching their top brand offer and will incorporate the D&G designs into the signature line.

“For the upcoming seasons, D&G will become part of Dolce & Gabbana, giving even more strength and energy to our collections,” the design duo released in a statement.

“To us, it’s like going back to when we began our adventure: full of ideas. We have a lot of new projects to start in the same way as many years ago when D&G was born.”

Dolce & Gabbana Off the Hook for Tax Invasion
Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana from Dolce & Gabbana are having a bitchin' Friday.

Just a couple of days ago they faced jail time over accusations of tax evasion amounting to up to $1.4 billion, and today they're free and clear. Like all clear!

The case had been heading to trial but it came to a halt on Friday when Judge Simone Luerti at a preliminary hearing in Milan ruled there is not enough evidence to proceed. Riiiight. $1.4 billion isn't enough evidence.

The Judge dismissed the case and closed the file on Dolce & Gabbana as well as five other people who were also under investigation, according to the AFP.

I wonder who was paid to bring the case to a halt. $1.4 billion in tax fraud is no joke. It's not like he forgot to include a $1,000 job on his taxes.

Someone should keep an eye on the Judge in the next couple of months to see if he starts sporting D&G. Clothes for life. #justsayin.
Britney Cleans Up Well With Dolce & Gabbana
We've been on Britney Spears overload this last week because she's been working overtime to get some press for her album that wasn't doing so well in presales. New promotional pics for her new album, Femme Fatale were released this week and they feature Brit Brit all cleaned up and in designer duds.

Britney is wearing Dolce & Gabbana in the promo pics and we all know that you can't really go wrong when your wearing Dolce & Gabbana.

"We love Britney and we love to dance to her new songs! We can't wait to hear the whole album! She has always been among our favorite artists because she has been able to remain true to herself and to her style throughout the years,” Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana said in a joint statement.

“With her music she influenced and inspired generations of people for more than 10 years, always staying at the top, and we can't but congratulate her for this new, important achievement," they added.

How great would it be if Britney had a full time stylist? Let's be real, she has proven to the world countless times that she's just not capable of dressing herself. When she does, we see a lot of stained clothes, nasty boots and a whole lot of mismatching.
Kate Bosworth Disappoints Dolce & Gabbana
Kate Bosworth celebrated her Nylon Magazine March cover last night at Hemingway’s in LA.

Kate was wearing a Dolce & Gabbana lace mini dress from the Spring 2011 collection.

Although Kate’s dress was really cute, she could have done without the jacket and those ugly booties.

If I were Dolce & Gabbana I would be pissed because she made a hot dress look hideous because of her mismatching.

The model that walked the runway looked fab and really gave the WOW factor to the dress. But with Kate, it was like the Ewww factor. She's lucky she has a pretty face!

See what a simple ugly jacket and shoes can do? You can go from best dressed to worst dressed in a second!
2011 Oscars Trend Alert: Stars Seeing Red and Purple!
If you were watching the live coverage of the 2011 Oscars, you noticed one big trend from the red carpet. A lot of Hollywood’s leading ladies were sporting gowns in the red and plum family.

  • The adorable and pregnant Natalie Portman, who arrived late to the red carpet wore a plum colored Rodarte gown for her big night. The dress will look fabulous as she goes on stage to accept her award for Best Actress.

  • Scarlett Johansson is one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood so it’s almost impossible for her to look bad on a red carpet, but the dress she wore to the Oscars was a big FAIL! She rocked a one-of-a-kind dress by Dolce & Gabbana and thankfully she is so beautiful that most people spend their time staring at her face rather than that hideous dress she was wearing.

  • Penelope Cruz made her first public red carpet appearance after giving birth to her son Leo. A glowing Cruz wore a fiery-toned, sequined L'Wren Scott gown and showed the world that she’s already lost her baby weight.
Jennifer Aniston Still Boring in Black
Surprise- Surprise, Jennifer Aniston wore a black dress to the premiere of ‘Just Go With It’ last night in NYC.

Are we surprised? Absolutely not!

Thankfully, black is one of those colors that never gets old so I’ll give her a “Get Out of Jail” pass this time.

And besides, she always wears sexy black dresses so she gets a few points there as well.

Jen opted for a strapless Dolce & Gabbana dress, Fred Leighton jewels and added some color with her grey Burberry clutch. Don't get too crazy now!

What do you guys think of her dress? Hit or miss?
Kate Bosworth: From Fashionista to Fashion Victim
Kate Bosworth attended the 2011 Creative Coalition Spotlight Initiative Awards at TAO during the Sundance Film Festival wearing that atrocity of a dress!

Just because it’s Dolce & Gabbana doesn’t automatically mean that’s it’s supposed to be nice.

Every designer at some point in their career design dresses that should never be worn in public. Clearly, this was one of them!

What the hell is going on with Kate Bosworth's sense of style? I want to know where she took a left turn from fashionista to fashion victim.

The dress was so ugly that there was no way of making it look good. Even the model looked bad in that thing!
Dolce & Gabbana Indicted on Tax Charges, Might go to Jail and Pay $1 Billion
Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are in big trouble! The Italian designers have been indicted for trying to avoid paying taxes in Italy. The WHOA part of the story is that they allegedly owe $569 million EACH.

If the case actually goes to trial, and if they are found guilty, they can owe up to $1 billion dollars and even spend 3 years in jail. Who would send Dolce & Gabbana to jail? That’s just bullying!

I’m sure they will settle out of court because there is no way these two would spend any time in jail. Who is going to throw fabulous parties on their yacht? But then again will they be able to afford their fabulous yacht if they pay up $1 billion dollars. Why are they trying to ruin Dolce & Gabbana?!

"It's a paradox! Since when does one have to pay taxes on money one never actually collected," the designers said in a personal statement.. "It's an absurd demand based on a completely abstract calculation. This higher taxable sum is a virtual figure we have never received, the result of a theoretical accounting exercise."

Labels like Salvatore Ferragamo, Gianfranco Ferré, Roberto Cavalli, Versace, Krizia have all faced similar tax charges in Italy. Note to self: Don’t open a business in Italy!
