The September issue of Harper’s Bazaar keeps getting more and more interesting: first they revealed that their cover girls were Gwen Stefani and Big Pink Hat, then they let slip that Karl Lagerfeld and his inordinately adorable and famous cat Choupette were appearing together in the first official non-photo shopped photo of the pair, then they showed Miranda Kerr stomping around nude in an awesome boot spread shot by Terry Richardson.

And this morning there was more: Harper’s Bazaar released some teaser images of their shoot and interview with Michelle Dockery, aka Lady Mary Crawley of Downton Abbey, from the September issue.

The HB editor's didn't make her cram herself in to a corset like the editors at LOVE, did, either.

Michelle wears looks by Ralph Lauren, Tom Ford, Alberta Ferretti, J. Mendel and Etro, in keeping with her self-described “Very French, understated,” personal style. Michelle also discussed her first audition for Downton Abbey:

“Until then I’d played much more vulnerable parts, but I remember coming out of the audition, and Dan Stevens [who plays Mary’s handsome love interest, Matthew, and with whom Dockery previously appeared in the TV movie The Turn of the Screw] was in the waiting room. I said, ‘Who are you up for?’ and he said, ‘Matthew.’ She laughs. “I walked out and thought, Oh, that could work.”

As if you needed another reason, be sure to check out the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar, on newsstands August 21st! And if you want more Michelle, watch The Look on YouTube’s Hello Style channel tomorrow, August 15th, for Michelle’s interview with HB’s Laura Brown.
