Drew Barrymore got married to art consultant Will Kopelman over the weekend and she’s finally speaking out about it. But the most important thing we’ve learned is that she got married in a Chanel gown.
Barrymore chose Chanel because her new father-in-law had a serious hook-up at the fashion house. The flower-embroidered pleated muslim and organza gown with tulle skirt was designed by Karl Lagerfeld himself. The dress was so fitted and so perfect that I could barely tell she was pregnant. That’s a lie, you can’t hide that belly.
Later in the evening she wore a black Chanel tweed jacket to keep warm.
The actress paired her dress with Chanel fine jewelry and Ful de Camelia earrings.
The veil featured a floor-length train that cascaded out of a bun at the top of her head. “She wanted something traditional,” a source told People, “Even though there are things about her that are very modern, it’s an old-world tradition she wanted to have.”
The intimate backyard wedding took place at her $5.7 million Montecito home, since Barrymore insisted that she “just wanted a backyard wedding.”
From the Chanel gown to the “vintage romantic” themed fete, the traditional Jewish ceremony included vintage lace, pink flowers and green garlands. Very fashion forward!
“The day was perfect,” said Barrymore, “Everyone we love and care about was there. It was as fun and meaningful as we ever could have hoped.”
Celebrity guests included Reese Witherspoon, Cameron Diaz, Jimmy Fallon and Busy Philipps.
