George Clooney who?

Elisabetta Canalis is clearly not sitting at home and crying about her recent breakup with George Clooney. She is all over the place taking advantage of her new found celebrity status in America, and what better way to do it than compete on a national television show?!

Canalis has signed on for the new season of Dancing with the Stars, which should be huge for her. She also graces the cover of the September issue of Vogue Arabia sporting a Dolce & Gabbana hat and Christian Dior dress.

So what did Elisabetta Canalis do before she became famous for dating George Clooney? She had some minor roles in movies and did some modeling. She was also a presenter on some Italian TV shows, where she shook her booty for 10 minutes and we watched the clip on repeat. Basically, George Clooney was the best thing that ever happened to her.

One thing is for sure, she has hired the right people to take control of her career because right after she broke up with George Clooney, she managed to land herself a Vogue cover and get a gig on one of the most watched TV shows in America.

In the magazine Elisabetta talks about her life in America, her workout routine and her relationship with her close friends.

You can read tidbits from the interview below:

On moving to Los Angeles: “I am so in love with this city. I love the weather, the people. L.A. is a big city and there are none of Milano’s tall buildings but it’s got everything you need. You can drive to the ocean and hit the beach any time.”

On keeping her body in shape: “At the beginning [of swimming pool-based exercise classes run by Bootcamp H2O], I was almost dying. But now I’m okay. It’s the most complete kind of sport that you can do. I have done sports all my life since I was a kid. I danced, I did kickboxing. I can’t stay [still] without doing any kind of activity.”

On keeping a close knit group of friends: “Real friendships last forever. I only have three or four really good friends … three in Italy and one here [in L.A.] that I can call once a month and they are always there and I will always be there for them. I have a long memory and I don’t forget.”
