Daphne Guinness, the Guinness beer heir and general fashion icon is auctioning off a whole lot of her personal wardrobe because it’s chock full of tons of designer duds.

Daphne, like every heiress, is something of an unofficial fashion icon. Because these heiresses are rich enough to afford high-fashion they sometimes get to walk in runway shows and appear in society pages. You can’t really call them a designer, model, or fashion editor, they are simply “fashion icons.”

Anyways, Daphne once called herself Alexander McQueen’s best friend, has walked in shows for Tom Ford, has posed for photographer David LaChapelle, and Lady Gaga calls her an inspiration.

As part of the Isabella Blow foundation (another woman considered a “fashion icon” and the woman credited as launching McQueen’s career) Daphne is auctioning off 102 pieces from her own wardrobe of haute couture and catwalk fashion.

All proceeds will go towards creating an exhibit to show off Blow’s own wardrobe, which will hopefully settle debts on Blow’s estate after her death.

Some of the items in the auction include a sculptural metallic silver mini dress created especially for Guinness by McQueen.

There’s also some structural platform boots by Noritaka Tatehana, you know those gravity defying heels without the heel.

There are a ton of Christian Lacroix dresses that are estimated to fetch between $6000 and $8000.

There are also cocktail dresses, evening gowns, and coats from Marc Jacobs, Valentino, Prada, and Christian Dior.

“This is a particularly interesting collection, because it is so modern," says Frost of the pieces, some of which are as recent as 2009. "Most couture collections which have been sold are clothes from 40 or 50 years ago."
