From Barbies in NY to Anna Wintour in Japan: Fashion's Night Out Around the World
August 30, 2011 by: MADISON VANDERBERG

Fashion's Night Out is the one night where stores around the world are open later than usual and while you shop they might have a freebie giveaway or at the very least, a cake-pop to munch on. Also, sales of the official FNO t-shirt benefits the NYC Aids Fund.
Here are just some of the FNO events happening in the major cities around the world.
New York: In Manhattan you can go on a Barbie fashion scavenger hunt. Follow clues that lead you around the city hunting for Barbie-sized fashions designed by Alice+Olivia, Rogan and Alexis Bitar. Winners will be entered to win life-sized versions.
Maybelline New York will be doing mini-makeovers and giving away a free tube of Great Lash Mascara. A DJ will be spinning until 11pm and Maybelline spokesmodels will be milling around signing autographs.
Volkswagen of America will be offering free rides for the less adventurous shoppers. VW cars will be providing non-stop rides from downtown NY on 50th st and 5th avenue and will drop you off uptown at Greene Street between Prince and Spring.
If human fashion isn't your thing, check out the dog show on the third floor of the 5th avenue Bergdorf Goodman women's store where Mark Badgley, James Mischka and their two Dachshunds will be competing in the Bergdorf Goodman Designer Dog show.
Los Angeles: The Beverly Center in Los Angeles will be hosting a fashion show hosted by celeb designer Nicole Richie, Voque's Lisa Love and the mayor of LA, Antonio Villaraigosa. At 6pm the luxury fashion show kicks off and you might even get to rub elbows with a, gasp, celebrity! Almost every store at the Beverly Center is participating, various stores are giving away make-overs, styling sessions and refreshments like hand squeezed lemonade! Believe me, Los Angelenos love getting luxury drinks for free.
Chanel on Robertson will not be giving anything away for free, but you can purchase (before anyone else) the newest Chanel Nail Colour collection created exclusively for FNO by Peter Philips.
Ed Hardy will give a free gift to the first 100 customers, but seeing as there are only 8 cast members on Jersey Shore, I'm guessing they will have 92 free gifts leftover.
Japan: If you want to try and mingle with the who's-who of Voque, head to Tokyo where all the editors of the international editions of Vogue - including Alexandra Shulman, Anna Wintour, Franco Sozzani and Emmanuelle Alt will attend FNO in Tokyo. However, due to Japan's efforts to conserve electricity, the events will occur around 2pm.
UK: If you plan on crossing the pond for FNO, you can stop by Vidal Sassoon in Covent Garden for free frindge trims, complimentary consultations, giveaways and free drinks.
Stella McCartney and Miu Miu are both launching exclusive products designed specifically for FNO. Stella McCartney will be selling a limited edition gold chain bracelet at their shop on Burton Street while Miu Miu will have exclusive mini-bags at their store on New Bond Street.
