$1 Million Dollar DKNY Perfume Bottle Unveiled
December 7, 2011 by: MADISON VANDERBERG

The perfume comes in a gold bauble and the pricey bottle was designed by Jewelry designer Martin Katz who adorned it in 14-karat yellow and white gold, as well as 2,700 white diamonds, 183 yellow sapphires, and a 2.43-carat yellow canary diamond. Santa, can I have this for Christmas, please?
Katz placed each stone hand by hand on the bottle to mimic the New York Skyline - and the whole process took nearly 1,500 hours to complete.
The perfume, titled Gold Delicious, is not your grocery store brand of perfume. The scent was unveiled by model Chanel Iman who carried the bottle in a fire proof and bullet proof silver briefcase as if she were toting $1 million dollars, oh wait, she was.
Iman also had to be followed by four body guards who were classily dressed in matching tuxes, sunglasses (indoors) and leather gloves. It was quite a scene all for a silly bottle of perfume.
The perfume debuted at the DKNY store in New York last night and all proceeds from the sale of the bottle will benefit Action Against Hunger, a humanitarian organization committed to ending world famine. The fragrance itself has notes of "Orange Flower Water, sparkling Mirabelle and signature Golden Delicious Apple." Sounds tasty.
If million dollar perfume wasn't cool enough, the bottle has been on a mini world tour, being unveiled at different DKNY stores in London, Mexico and Malaysia.
The perfume bottles designer Martin Katz also designed last years Victoria's Secret Fantasy bra for $5 million, a diamond phone case for Motorola, and collaborated with Ray Ban on jeweled sunglasses.
For the fragrance bottle, he says, "they wanted something that would appeal to various clients around the world, so we took gems found locally in those countries."
Katz says his jeweled projects are "intensive and costly, but it's still somewhat unique. They want to imprint on people how special this new fragrance is."
Even though the perfume will eventually be sold, he says when he made the VS bra that after the show he "took it back and we dismantled it." Aww, I just imagine that you put a $5 million bra like that in a glass case and have a "choir of angels" sound effect playing on loop in the background.
