Diane von Furstenberg Launches Collection for GapKids and BabyGap
Imagine a printed wrap dress on a 3-year-old…it’s the cutest thing ever.

Diane von Furstenberg has teamed up with retailer the Gap for a mini collection of her DVF staples.

She launched the collection at the Gap store at The Grove in LA and all of Hollywood’s celeb mommies turned out with their kids.

Rumor on the fashion block is that Diane Von Furstenberg is in talks for a collaboration with Gap Kids.

Doesn’t really do much for me since I don’t have kids, but I’m sure moms will be excited to dress their kids up in DVF for Gap.

Gap Kids had previously teamed up with Stella McCartney for a collaboration and it was a huge success.

According to sources, the collection will hit stores later this year.

Bold prints and wrap dresses for kids? Maybe, I just might buy and save some DVF for Gap for the kids I plan on having in the future.
Valentino Goes GAP
This almost flew right under my radar!

It surprised me when I found out that Valentino had collaborated with Gap for an affordable line. When H&M collaborates with a big fashion house, we usually hear so much about it!

The collaboration was to celebrate the launch of GAP Italy.

The good news is that since there is no anticipation leading up to the release because the line is actually going to hit stores this Friday, November 26.

Before you start jumping for joy there is a downside. The Valentino for GAP collection will only be available in select European stores, so unless we book tickets to Italy or Paris, we’re screwed.

The collection will include 7 pieces and will have Valentino’s signature ruffles with a lot of military inspired pieces. The only thing that’s missing is the Valentino red!
Gap is Feeding America
‘Tis the season for awesome Holiday parties! Gap and Nylon Magazine teamed up to celebrate the grand opening of Gap’s new concept store in Soho.

Guests such as actress Emmy Rossum, Ugly Betty star Becki Newton and Bravo’s Real Housewives’ Kelly Bensimon got a chance to try on Gap’s winter accessories and partygoers shopped the new Premium 1969 Jeans Collection.

‘Tis the season for giving as well, Gap donated 30 percent of all purchases to Feeding America. It’s good to see that despite our unfortunate economy, retailers still are feeling the holiday spirit by giving back.
Kanye Gets An Internship at the Gap
Kanye West has landed himself a summer internship! The rapper is reportedly lending his time to retail giant The Gap. Apparently Kanye is trying to learn the ins and outs of the fashion industry before he launches his own line.

Kanye has already developed his own line of sneakers with both Louis Vuitton and Nike. But he wants to branch out and do it all on his own.

A source tells Us Weekly, “He works all the time, and one Friday night recently he stayed until midnight. He is learning the fashion business from the inside and trying to do it quietly.”

We don’t know why Kanye would pick The Gap of all places to learn! NY Magazine says Kanye did a similar “internship” under the radar last year as well with Louis Vuitton and Raf Simons.

We would just love to see him on the floor at The Gap using those special contraptions to fold sweaters. Isn’t that an intern’s job anyway? Oh, Kanye! Always keeping us guessing!
GAP Goes Vogue!
Gap has done it again!

The retail giant has collaborated with the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winners on a new collection. The collection takes a new twist on iconic khakis, with each designer putting his or her spin on the iconic look.

You may remember in the past the CFDA/Vogue collaboration with Gap has brought out designers such as Phillip Lim to take on looks such as the white shirt. The success of the collaboration is undeniable with the garments selling out within days.

This year Albertus Swanepoel, Alexander Wang, and Vena Cava get in on the act! You can check all the new Khakis at gap.com.

Happy Hunting!
Stella McCartney To Design For GapKids

Stella McCartney is expanding her empire to include children's clothing.

The superstar designer is set to release her new collection in stores and online in November.

Speaking about her new venture, Stella said, "For years now I've wanted to create a collection for kids... I believe that this one off collaboration will be a great way for customers to be able to participate in the Stella McCartney Brand.

"I believe that kids clothing should be more accessibly priced, which is particularly important at the moment given the current climate."

Stella certainly has a great sense of style so she would be an asset to GapKids. Now if only she would start designing dresses young women could afford, that would be perfection.
Jennifer Hudson for Gap
Since Jennifer Hudson is quietly mourning the loss of her precious family members, the executives over at the Gap decided to approach her before launching their 2008 holiday ad campaign.

The ad collection features a gorgeous photo ofthe singer/actress smiling and wearing a bright red sweater. The shots were originally taken back in July with the intention of being released this holiday season.

When given the chance to pull herself out and remove the photos of herself, "She said she wanted to be a part of it and that we should move forward," a spokesperson for the Gap said.

Other famous faces in the annual campaign include Mila Kunis, Mary Louis Parker, Milla Jovovich, Jason Bateman, and Ashanti. Kudos to Jennifer for having the courage to keep moving forward.
Liv Tyler Creates Her Own Gap
Liv Tyler appears in the new Gap ads called "Create Your Own Gap."

The whole idea they're going for Fall '08 is self-expression, creativity, and individuality with one's wardrobe.

Our favorite part about Fall is that cardigans are back with a vengeance. This time around, they're longer, thinner, and that more likely to look like they've come out of your grandfather's closet.

The ads, which come out this week, not only feature Liv, but other stars like Ginnifer Goodwin, Hugh Dancy, and Sean Avery.
