As we gear up for Paris Fashion week, o la la, let's take a look at one of the last shows during Milan Fashion Week, Giorgio Armani Fall 2012.

It is just days after the Oscars and the Giorgio Armani Fall 2012 show is surprisingly absent of any red carpet looks. Armani himself called the show “Rockabilly,” but rather the show was a history lesson in menswear.

The show began with a gangster prohibition-era pantsuit, which morphed into tailored slacks and bright tops circa the 60’s mod era. The show then broke up pantsuits with splashes of color and tailored blazers and tweed coats, pastel blouses, and heavy leather coats. Soon the show moved into fur and above the knee cropped Bermuda shorts. The last pieces all followed an orange/pink theme in a series of sequined, beaded, and jewel tone hot-orange cap sleeved dresses.

All the models wore oversized fedoras balancing delicately to one side of the head and to keep with the menswear theme, all models wore flat oxford shoes.

Armani says this collection truly emphasized the “modern eccentric” that he says women expect to see in his collection.

While I would have loved to browse a collection full of red-carpet gowns ready for A-List wear, this collection was definitely fun to look at. Also, it’s pretty clear hot pink and bright orange is a trend to expect for Fall.
