The Oscars is by far the best red carpet as far as fashion is concerned.

The Academy Awards brings out Hollywood elite like no other awards show and our favorite leading ladies storm the red carpet in beautiful gowns year after year.

Tonight was no different, here are the best dressed stars from the Oscar red carpet.

Angelina Jolie: I’ve never NOT liked anything Angelina Jolie has worn, or maybe I’m too scared to say anything bad about her, but the woman looked amazing in a black strapless Atelier Versace. It was classic sexiness with a high slit and Angelina was stomping down that red carpet like a pro.

Gwyneth Paltrow: Normally I’m not a fan of a cape on a red carpet, but Paltrow made this stunning fashion move look effortless. In an ivory Tom Ford dress she looked like an Amazonian goddess. So looked so striking and statuesque.

Cameron Diaz: Cameron looked absolutely lovely in an ivory strapless dress by Gucci. The gown featured asymmetrical ruffles that descended into a fishtail train. The dress featured some dainty champagne colored sparkles.

Jessica Chastain: Chastain has such a great figure that she could potentially look awesome in everything, but she finally hit the right note in this copper and gold Alexander McQueen gown. She herself looked like a statue, in the best way. If you’re wondering what it means to look like a statue in the worst way, check out our Oscars Worst Dressed list.

Kate Mara: While the world is busy fawning over Rooney Mara, don’t look over her sister Rooney Mara who was arguably more stunning on the red carpet this year. Wearing a dress by Jack Guisso Couture she looked very elegant and dainty and the pearly pink color contrasted perfectly with her skin.

Jennifer Lopez: J.Lo wore such a J.Lo dress. I mean, there is no one else who could pull this off except maybe Salma Hayek, and even then, probably not. This shiny silver figure hugging Zuhair Murad dress featured a plunging neckline (something J.Lo is familiar with, 2000 Grammys anyone?)

Penelope Cruz: Penelope Cruz was doing Penelope Cruz before Sofia Vergara was doing Penelope Cruz. She looked timeless in a periwinkle Armani Prive gown that reminded me of the golden days of Old Hollywood. Her hair and makeup looked amazing, although her dress was missing something, but Penelope is so beautiful that she can’t do any wrong.

Octavia Spencer: This is Octavia’s best awards season look by far. She wore an ivory beaded dress by Tadashi Shoji and was incredibly flattering for her figure. The dress featured a beaded pattern that gathered in the center like an exploding star.
