Heidi Klum Considering Launching Children's Clothing Line

Heidi Klum is such a super-mom. She looks great, she has like 100 babies, she finds time to host Project Runway, she designed an entire range of jewelry for QVC and hints at moving into designing children’s clothes?

Heidi Klum just launched her Wildlife by Heidi Klum jewelry for QVC just in time to give the gift of glamour this Holiday season. Her WildLife collection is on sale now only on QVC and luckily for us, pieces start at just $30.

Heidi Klum talks fashion, jewelry, and designing in this new interview with Modamob.

What inspires you in designing jewelry?
“I go to the flea market, I get inspired by old things. I draw things, I look at what is in fashion right now. I design things that resemble things I had in the past. I collected little heart charms and I put them all on a chain and I've always loved it so I made a necklace like that for the line.

Who is the ideal customer?
“I design everything for myself because if I don’t wear it, I don’t want to put it out there, so all of the pieces thus far I have all worn on project runway this past season. I am really proud of it and I wanted everyone to see it, so I have been wearing it in every episode – basically I design for myself.”

Describe the style of Wildlife?
“I think about what I want, I like something that is hard but feminine at the same time, some things I want them really feminine.”

Describe the choice to create “stretch rings”?
“I wanted to do some in stretch – they do still come in three different sizes, but I think this way they are easier to wear, and I thought it would be nicer for women to wear because I know sometimes my fingers get thinner and bigger.”

How did you come up with the name “Wildlife”?
“I have a wild life, I feel like I have a wild life, I don’t have a boring life, it is quite wild. Some days are wilder than others but I do have a wild life and I also feel like a lot of my pieces are inspired by wildlife, like my snakeskin inspired cuffs and the boxes they come in.”

Would you ever expand into designing children’s clothes?
“Maybe down the line.”

How do you find the time to actually design?
“Every Saturday morning at 7:30, before we go to Karate and Ballet before we do their classes I design for like 2 ½ hours every Saturday. I go into my office and design.”
