Top 10 Fashion Statements of 2010

2010 was full of ups and downs when it comes to fashion and Time Magazine has just released their Top 10 Fashion Statements of the year.

After seeing the top contenders, I hope they mean the top 10 fugliest outfits of 2010.

The usual victims made the list because everything they wear makes a “statement,” but there were some newcomers on there as well.

10. Heidi Klum
I wrote about this fashion atrocity when it happened and thankfully it made the list as well. Heidi Klum’s dress for this red carpet event was just tragic.

9. Charo
Charo is unfortunately still stuck in the Love Boat days and this outfit she wore to the Latin Grammy Awards is proof. She looks great for her age, but that outfit is just a bit too much, even for my usual over-the-top self.

8. Taylor Momsen
There isn’t one particular outfit that sticks out because every single thing Taylor Momsen wears is just ridiculous. A 17-year old should not dress like a low-class hooker.

7. Rita Wilson
I love Rita Wilson, but I DO NOT love this outfit she wore to the Emmy Awards. It looks as if her own husband, Tom Hanks is staring at her outfit and wondering, "Why the hell did I let her out of the house wearing that?!" She's giving crystal chandeliers a bad name.

6. Britney Spears
Britney Spears has never been known for her sense of style because, well, she doesn’t have any! When you're as rich as Brit, you can hire people to dress you. Clearly she never got that memo. Maybe Rachel Zoe can take her under her wing?

5. Rihanna
I’ve said it once and I will say it again--what the hell has happened to Rihanna’s sense of style?! She used to be such a fashionista, but her style has just been disastrous this past year. Take the green outfit she wore to an award show a few months ago. That cat suit is just not flattering!

4. Prince
Prince has probably made the list every single year because he’s been wearing the same kind of outfits for the last 20 years. But according to Time this one outfit he wore was too outrageous even for them.

3. Venus Williams
Venus Williams surprised everyone at the French Open not because of the way she played but because of what she was wearing. She said she was wearing an outfit from her EleVen clothing collection saying, "The outfit is about illusion…and it's obviously lace and kind of having that illusion of wearing lace and not having anything under it." Stick to Adidas or Nike, Venus!

2. M.I.A.
For some strange reason M.I.A. thought it would be a good idea to wear a burqa out in public. Some were offended, some were liberated with the message she was trying to send, but let’s get real, the outfit was FUG.

1. Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga should have taken all ten spots if you ask me--the outfits that she wears on a daily basis are more outrageous than what most of the people on the list leave the house in. But even Lady Gaga outdid herself when she wore a dress made from REAL meat to the MTV awards. In case you are wondering, the dress is currently being turned into beef jerky.
