Hermes Burns It’s Own Bags
A couple weeks ago, Clint Eastwood’s daughter Francesca and her photographer boyfriend Tyler Shields got a ton of heat from the press after setting a $100,000 Hermes Birkin bag on fire and photographed it for the sake of art.

People couldn’t believe they would be so careless about destroying something so expensive, have they no respect for those of us that work for a living? Also, did the Eastwood daughter have no respect for the artisans who created the handbag?

However, it seems like Hermes itself would take a torch to any of their products, no problem.

Emma Hill, creative director at Mulberry, gave an interview to “The Telegraph” where she quoted some unnamed friend who works at Hermes about the brands arson habits.

“No one can touch them in terms of quality,” says Hill, “A friend who was working at Hermes said that if there was even the most minor imperfection on a bag that would take it out to the back and burn it – no compromise.”

Well, she could have been exaggerating. I hope so. Does Hermes really burn their bags? Give it to me! Give it to homeless people! Who burns bags?! Oh yeah, Clint Eastwood’s daughter. BOOM Full circle.
