While he's mostly known for his eponymous fashion lines, Mizrahi will appear as a judge on the new Lifetime show, "Project Runway All Stars," a "Project Runway" spin-off where all the contestants will be favorite designers from the past seasons. The show debuts later this year.
Mizrahi spills all his fashion details on why you should wear blue this season and what's the deal with stylists?
DO: Mizrahi thinks this award season will be filled with lots of blue gowns, "I think blue is going to be great for the red carpet," says the designer.
DONT: But don't think the Royal blue influence is because of the Royal Family.
"I dont think its about the royal family, I guess blue is a royal color but purple is also a royal color, I dont imagine a lot of purple going on. i think just blue because its beutiful and it's not boring" Mizrahi tells HS.
DO: Mizrahi also says dresses with lots of volume and very bold prints are very in this season. "Bold prints. I don't know why, but I think we're going to see a lot of prints too."
DONT: The designer thinks form fitting little dresses are definitely out. "I think tight clothes are not going to be seen a lot." Can we get Mizrahi and the cast of The Jersey Shore in the same room together, I think they need an intervention.
DO: Isaac says "Here's a fashion DO, listen to your d-mn stylist" and if you don't have a stylist he jokes, "Too bad. Save [up] your money." He says if you don't have a stylist, which I'm guessing only .01% of our readers actually do, he advises, "If you don't have a stylist, use your mirror a lot."
I'm gonna guess he probably doesn't advise getting dressed in the dark either.
DONT: He dishes, half-serious "[Don't] wear too much makeup." And then after saying you should listen to your stylist he says, a little coy, "Do not listen, by any means, to your stylist."
Well, I don't know whether he is pro-stylist or anti-stylist, but at this point it's safe to assume that we can wear blue, bold prints, cut out the form fitting dresses and ditch the heavy make-up and according to Mr. Mizrahi that would make us red-carpet ready.
