James Franco is the Face of Gucci Again
October 17, 2011 by: MADISON VANDERBERG

The sometimes model/sometimes actor posed for the campaign in Rome, which features James in his own Made to Measure suit. The Made To Measure service basically means you can say your clothes are custom designed by Gucci. The service will begin in November and the site claims, "A more enhanced level of customization is available in the Made-to-Measure tailoring service, which allows clients to make an array of choices on silhouette, details and finishings to the suit in addition to the fabric color and type."
Franco was shot by French photographer Nathaniel Goldberg and features Franco looking dapper and sexy in a couple custom suits. While he looks all kinds of fine in these new ads, I can't help but giggle at the image of Franco in a suit. That guy is so laid back I can't imagine he wears anything other than boxers and a Haines t-shirt 24/7.
The campaign is called "All the World's a Stage," and Gucci thinks Franco exudes some kind Hollywood royalty. Don't get me wrong, Franco looks amazing in these ads, but at the end of the day, Franco is just the worlds most famous stoner.
Here's what Gucci's creative director Drida Giannini said in a statement, "James has an innate ability to fuse classic elegance with contemporary style and interpret formalwear in an individual way, true to the spirit of our Made to Measure service. With Gucci's Made in Italy tradition and sartorial expertise, personalized formalwear is the ultimate way for a man to express his own style."
That was a lot of big words to say something that could have been summed up as follows: James franco looks nice in a custom made suit.
This isn't the actors first time modeling for the brand. In 2008 he was the face of Gucci's men's fragrance line. In those images he is photographed swimming in a t-shirt and waltzing around in a wet t-shirt looking like some kind of pool boy fantasy. That was for Gucci by Gucci Sport.
He was also the face of Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme but those ads just featured in in a suit looking only quasi-sexy.
Franco also wore a Made to Measure suit when he hosted the Oscars last March, but that hosting stint was such a disaster, I doubt Gucci wants that to be associated with their brand.
