Overweight or Pregnant? Why Jennifer Hudson Went on a Diet
A common fear is accidentally asking a fat person if they are pregnant when they actually aren't. "Hey Barb, when's the baby due?" "I'm not pregnant..." AWKWARD.

But Jennifer Hudson said the opposite was happening to her. When she was pregnant with her son David, she was a size 16 and nobody knew she pregnant, they just assumed she was that big. Ouch.

She says it was this realization that made her want to loose weight.

"I thought, hold on - why doesn't anybody know I'm pregnant?" Hudson tells Self Magazine.

She goes on to say, "I remember one of my first times on a red carpet, an interviewer asked, 'How does it feel to be plus-sized in Hollywood?' I looked around like, 'Who is she talking to?"

Since that obviously sucked, she called up Weight Watchers and never looked back. After famously dropping 80 pounds and going from a size 16 to a size 6 Hudson practically dropped half a person off her weight.

She tells Hollyscoop about her dramatic weight loss, "Weight Watchers it works, I feel good, what else can I say."

Now that she's a slim size 6 she tells us her secrets to getting so trim, "I just made sure I stuck to my Weight Watchers plan. I also took the extra mile to delete the carbs. I made sure when I felt the need to eat something crunchy I ate nuts instead and stayed away from the carbs," Hudson tells HS.

Jennifer Hudson is a very talented singer and actress, I mean, hello, she's an American Idol winner, a Grammy winner and an Oscar winner. Who can say they've done all those things?! Strangely, her media attention is always about her weight, whether she's loosing it or endorsing it in Weight Watchers commercials.

Hudson confesses, "I'm prouder of my weight loss than my Oscar!" Really? If you say so.

She says, "I didn't even know I was considered plus-sized until I came to Hollywood. I thought I was the perfect size!"

But Hudson says she really just wanted to loose weight, "to set a good example for my son."

Though Hudson remembers the most ridiculous questions after she lost all the weight, "People questioned whether I can still sing."
