Jennifer Lopez Nearly Cries in Versace Last Night
As one of the honorees at last nights Glamour Women of the Year Awards at Carnegie Hall in NYC, Jennifer Lopez stunned on the red carpet in a light gray Atelier Versace gown with a thigh-high slit so high she was nearly wearing a bathrobe. She paired the sexy gown with a pair of Jimmy Choo peep-toe shoes and blinged it out with Harry Winston jewelry.

If Marc Anthony saw this outfit he’d probably gasp and then criy a little. The whole thing was very “this is what your missing Marc Anthony” but also a little “Hayy Bradley Cooper.”

However, despite her stunning red carpet ensemble, she appeared to be holding back tears throughout her acceptance speech.

She took to the podium and seemed nervous when she joked, “it’s been kind of a long night, right?” referring to all the other nominees like Jennifer Aniston, former First Lady Laura Bush, Arianna Huffington, Chelsea Handler, and Gloria Steinem to name a few.

She gushed, “We all felt a little overwhelmed tonight.” Because this was a night to celebrate women, she named some of the women in her life that have inspired her.

“It's the women. Through the ups and the not so ups, that's the one thing that got me through," she admitted. "My grandmother, who taught me to cook and not be afraid to serve and be humble. And to go out looking nice because people like that and then they respect you."

She also adds, “My daughter Emme inspired me to be a better human being."

After her nearly teary-eyed speech she changed into something a little more club ready for the after party. And after the party to the hotel lobby. Ok, that’s not true, the after party was J.Lo’s last stop of the night.

She changed into a black leather mini, with sheer detailing at the neckline and large sleeves that you would think would look awful, but actually totally worked. Lopez was one of 11 awards presented to impressive activists and talents and 21 young women with impressive accomplishments in a variety of fields.

Lopez’s award was presented by Donatella Versace, so it was only fitting that she wore Versace for the ceremony.

Because the event was put on by Glamour, there was the vaguest hint of fashion, by inviting presenters from the design world like Donatella and Marc Jacobs.
