Jessica Chastain Is The New Face of YSL
Continuing the trend of celebrities-posing-as-models-for-luxury-brands, Jessica Chastain has been named the new face of Yves Saint Laurent.

Chastain shot to fame playing Brad Pitt’s wife in the “The Tree Of Life” and since then she’s been handed tons of film roles including starring in this years “The Help.”

She will be the face of YSL’s latest perfume, Manifesto.

“Yves Saint Laurent is a brand that inspires me deeply,” says Chastain, “Since it’s creation, the brand has conveyed strong values that I cherish, such as an unwavering commitment, absolute love and feminine audacity. This new fragrance is an emblem of it all. I am thrilled to be part of this beautiful adventure.”

This partnership makes sense. Chastain has been turning up for tons of fashion and red carpet events and while her red-carpet fashion sense is sometimes hit-or-miss, it’s clear she’s carving a path for herself in the fashion world.

Manifesto perfume will be introduced in France on August 27 and the rest of Europe in September. The perfume and it’s accompanying campaign will hit the US in 2013.

“We were won over by the very subtle strength of Jessica Chastain, her solar charm, her free mind,” says a rep for YSL “Jessica embodies the quintessence of Saint Laurent’s femininity, a woman of her day and age, independent, determined, never where you expect her to be.”

One thing about YSL is for sure. The brand LOVES red head. They last hired the scarlet haired Karen Elson for a campaign and a red-haired Sophie Dahl was the face of Opium fragrance in the past.
