According to Jessica, the duo has a very yin and yang approach to designing, citing that. "It's a combination of both of our styles," Jessica tells Fashionista online, "Ashlee is very rock 'n' roll, and I'm very American." Because little girls like dressing like American Rockstars.
"I'm more of like your all-American girl. I'm pretty classic," says Jessica of her own style, "Combining the two is always fun. But I am the person that does like to wear something simple and throw a crazy accessory with it."
The girls mingles with the preteen party guests who munched on grilled cheese sandwiches and bedazzled jeans and shoes.
The young models looked like mini Simpson sisters, "I feel like all these little girls are wearing stuff that Ashlee and I would both wear."
However, she says the goal is to make kid friendly clothes that are age appropriate. "We made sure that they can look adorable but stay their age. I think that keeping it age important is extremely important," says Simpson.
Proceeds of a specially-designed T-shirt will benefit the charity Baby Buggy which provides needy families with baby gear and other items. The Simpson's are even launching a online contest for fans to design a t-shirt to be included in next years, "back-to-school" collection.
The collection is released through Jessica's label and the girls had so much fun working on the collection that they may branch out to a maternity line, baby wear, and girls' footwear. Because when you get pregnant that means you become an expert on what pregnant ladies and babies want to wear.
c Jessica hints to Women's Wear Daily, "Boys' clothing is a possibility," that's if she finds out she's having a son. This new endeavor of maternity and baby clothes will hit shelves in February. Even though both Simpson girls had their own respective clothing labels, it was their mom who suggested that they work together. "My mother thought it would be great to combine both of our styles, both of our personalities," says Jessica, "But it feels like we always work together anyways!" So far, Jessica's design conglomerate consists of her churning out shoes, handbags, outerwear, denim, fragrances, luggage, jewelry, and now clothes for kids, babies, and pregnant women.
