As the creative director of Louis Vuitton, he says he isn't ready to leave just yet.
As for the would-be gig at Dior, Jacobs says, "It's a great honor to be considered

Here's exactly what Paul Gaultier said about Voque's editor in chief, Anna Wintour.
In an interview with The Independent, Gaultier was talking about his favorite fashion films and of course "The Devil Wears Prada" came up in discussion. Though he thinks that Meryl Streep who portrayed an Anna Wintour-like character played it too nice.
"Anna Wintour is a lot more monstrous than she is described!" says Gaultier.
And then when the journalist asked if she was a positive figure in fashion, he just responded, "She is a figure."

He was sentenced to a suspended fine of 6,000 Euros or $8,500 US dollars, which means he doesn't have to pay as long as he is not found guilty of any other crime in France for five years. He also must pay a one euro fine to one of the plaintiffs as a symbolic gesture and another 90 Euros court cost to the French government.
That's a pretty easy sentence, have you seen the video of John Galliano verbal sparring with those people? He was a wreck.

Rumor on the fashion block is that LVMH head honcho Bernard Arnault is in contract negotiations with Marc Jacobs to take over Christian Dior.
Marc Jacobs has a good reputation and they feel like he will do good for the label…you know ever since Galliano screwed up the label.
"I could have asked many other talented designers to do Dior, but it would not have been the same," Arnault told Tatler Asia."Take Marc Jacobs, he has been a fantastic success at Vuitton, and he has a proximity to the Vuitton spirit, but I don't think it would have been a success with Jacobs at Dior and the other way around, if I had asked John [Galliano] to do Vuitton, it would not have worked. An essential ingredient in the success of the brand today is the real proximity of Galliano to the talent of Christian Dior."

Topshop is no Dior, but hey, beggars can’t be choosers. Galliano’s career was given a boost when he received universal praise for the wedding dress he created for Kate Moss’ recent wedding. It was Kate’s wedding that sparked rumors of the Topshop deal.

Haute Couture is more of artwork than something you would see someone wearing.
Christian Dior had its Autumn/Winter 2011-2012 runway show during Paris Fashion Week and this was the first couture show without former designer John Galliano.

After speculation that Vivienne Westwood would design her dress, and then rumors that Kate Moss was going to design her own dress, it has been confirmed that Moss will wear a dress by John Galliano.
Kate’s maid of honor, Trish Simonon and wife of Clash bassist Paul Simonon...

Galliano has expressed his apologies for the incident, but was immediately fired from the French fashion house.
The British designer has been out of the public eye for months, but showed up to a gilded courtroom at the Justice Palace wearing a black polka dot handkerchief, as well as his familiar pencil-thin mustache and long hair. Hey, at least it wasn't a skin-tight white minidress.

Philippe Virgitti and his pal Geraldine Bloch were both verbally attacked by Galliano during a night out in Paris last month. Galliano basically praised Hitler while insulting Philippe and Geraldine, and it got so bad Philippe had to file a police report.
Of course that video made its rounds on the internet and within days Galliano was fired from Dior.
But looking back, Philippe considers the incident a "simple bar dispute," and actually feels bad that Galliano was canned from the fashion house.
Philippe says, "For me it was a simple bar dispute. John Galliano does not deserve this. I do not want him to be destroyed like this. I would like Mr. Galliano to benefit from this unhappy story by drinking a little less and getting back to making the dresses and shows that he did so well."
I'm not going to defend Galliano because I think his comments were disgusting, but how many times have you said something you regretted after having one too many drinks? When we do it we just shake our head in disappointment the next morning and carry on with our lives. When celebrities do it, it makes front page news and ruins careers.
Tell us your thoughts, does Galliano deserve another chance?

Galliano has taken the route of many celebs that f-up then try to make things better by checking into rehab.
Karl Lagerfeld had some harsh words for Galliano saying, "I’m furious, if you want to know. I’m furious that it could happen, because the question is no longer even whether he really said it. The image has gone around the world. It’s a horrible image for fashion, because they think that every designer and everything in fashion is like this. This is what makes me crazy in that story.
The thing is, we are a business world where, especially today, with the Internet, one has to be more careful than ever, especially if you are a publicly known person. You cannot go in the street and be drunk — there are things you cannot do... I’m furious with him because of the harm he did to LVMH and [chairman and ceo] Bernard Arnault, who is a friend, and who supported him more than he supported any other designer in his group, because Dior is his favorite label. It’s as if he had his child hurt."
But Patricia Field has come to Galliano’s defense saying that watching John is like going to the theatre and the things can’t offend you he says or does. Lame excuse Patricia!
"People in fashion all they do is go and see John Galliano theater every season. That’s what he gives them. To me, this was the same except it wasn’t in a theater or in a movie. John lives in theater. It’s theater. It’s farce. But people in fashion don’t recognize the farce in it. All of a sudden they don’t know him. But it’s OK when it’s Mel Brooks The Producers singing "Springtime for Hitler"…Fashion people who know him have not come forward. They know his theater. Believe me — my name is Field — my stepfather was Jewish."
