Karl Lagerfeld: I'm Not Interested in Sex
There’s simply no one in the world quite like Karl Lagerfeld. He interviews himself. He praises himself. And will absolutely call out any celebrity who gains just a few pounds. Ahem…Adele.

Well Karl finally started his position as guest editor of Paris’ Metro magazine, in which he talks about his sex life, how he’s the most down to earth human ever, and his mini-me. Here are some highlights from the article:

On being human:
I look the part. But I’m not that human, hmm? But more down to earth than me you will never find. You cannot be more down to earth.
Karl Lagerfeld Calls Adele Fat
Karl Lagerfeld is saying things again and as usual, it’s super offensive. The man needs a cutthroat publicist and quick, before he offends all of Hollywood.

Karl likes Adele, but he’s not a fan of her body, “I prefer Adele and Florence Welch…the thing at the moment is Adele. She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice.”

Is it supposed to make it better that he called her voice “divine”?

Karl Lagerfeld Interviews Himself on Camera
In anticipation of Karl Lagerfeld’s newest collection KARL by Karl Lagerfeld for Net-a-Porter, which might just be the best thing since Karl Lagerfeld for Macys, Lagerfeld interviews himself on camera for the first time ever.

There is no one like Karl Lagerfeld. His opinionated views, combined with his iconic style that looks like a cross between a fashionable priest and a renaissance vampire killer makes him one of the most bizarre and hilarious people in fashion.

Karl Lagerfeld Planning an Exhibition on Chanel's Tweed Jackets
Just because Christian Louboutin gets a musem exhibit, doesn’t mean you need one too, Mr. Lagerfeld.  Regardless, it’s happening and it actually sounds pretty cool.

Chanel wants to launch a show in Tokyo, Japan that will launch for 7 weeks, beginning in March and will feature an exhibition will comprise around 100 photos of celebrities wearing Chanel tweed jackets, from the forthcoming book, “The Little Black Jacket” which features celebrities wearing Chanel tweed jackets.

If that’s something that interests you, get yourself over to Japan, where Chanel is also planning to open a pop-up show and launch the winter couture show.
Karl Lagerfeld Unveils His Lower-Priced Karl Line
After doing collections for H&M and Macy's, Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld is turning into a bargain basement queen, as he announces that his new low-budget fashion line "Karl" launches next month.

Karl attended Europe's biggest tech conference, Le Web, as a keynote speaker because his new Karl line will be sold exclusively online. "We will make fashion and technology history," says Karl, marking the first time a designer brand will be sold exclusively online.

The style is a little bit more rock'n'roll and edgy than Lagerfeld designs for Chanel, so don't expect a tweed skirt suit, this Karl line is like a lady version of Karl Lagerfeld's personal style. If you have thing for high necklines, ties and fingerless gloves, this collection is for you.

Fashion Recap From the 2011 Bambi Awards
The stars were out and dressed to the nines at something called the Bambi Awards. Apparently the Bambi Awards is an annual ceremony to hand out golden Bambi statues to stars and celebrities that have “affected and inspired the German public.”

For reasons unknown, this awards ceremony is named after a deer-like creature. Let’s just focus on the fashion.

Here are the highlights from the red carpet at the Rhein-Main-Hallen in Wiesbaden, Germany last night. Because this was Germany’s main fashion show, some of the names you might not recognize, but their style is still stunning.

Lady Gaga: Of course Gaga would not be dressed as a human being and so at the Bambi awards she did not disappoint, if by being disappointed you of course mean, Gaga dressed nicely in something that other women would also find attractive.
Roberto Cavalli: Chanel is for Grandmothers
Roberto Cavalli makes fun of Chanel and calls it a “grandmothers” label. Oh no he didn’t! Oh yes he did.

Roberto Cavalli just opened a freestanding boutique in Japan. However, instead of opening the store in the busy shopping district of Ginza, he chose the location of the Aoyama neighborhood, a relatively quiet backstreet that caters to a younger audience.

He thinks young fashionable people will seek out his store, while the mothers and grandmothers will stick to Ginza at stores like Chanel.

“I want it to be that [shoppers] come to find me. They shouldn't find me by accident walking in Ginza. I think this is a really winning strategy. I will demonstrate this to the dear Messrs. Chanel or other people like that. Fine, you dress the grandmothers and the mothers and I'll dress their kids.”
Karl Lagerfeld Launching a Low-Budget Line
Karl Lagerfeld is slumming it. The Creative Director of Chanel has just announced that he will launch an "affordable" range of clothing called The Karl Collection.

His 100 piece women's line will retail from $95 to $450, so this isn't exactly Karl Lagerfeld for Target, but it's still no Chanel. The Karl Collection will be available on Net-a-porter on January 25 and on karllagerfeld.comon February 28.

First he did a collaboration with Macy's in August where he created designs that ranged in price from $50 to $170. The success of that collection is probably what spurned him to create another budget line. Give it like 5 more years and the inevitable economic collapse of our nation and I'm sure there's going to be a Karl Lagerfeld for Wal-Mart. Just you wait.
Karl Lagerfeld: Coco Chanel Would Have "Hated" What I'm Doing
Karl Lagerfeld thinks Coco Chanel would hate what he's done with the company.

How to run a company according to Lagerfeld means, saying "screw you" to the person that gave you your job.

"I have it in my blood," says the flamboyant designer, "When I was asked to Chanel, it was not trendy at all. I made something of it because I was given total freedom by the owner. What I do Coco would have hated. It's my job to keep Chanel updated."

When Lagerfeld took over Chanel, the owner said, "I'm not proud of the business. If you can make something, OK. If not, I'll sell it. What I did, [Coco Chanel] never did....The label has an image, it's up to me to update it."
Karl Lagerfeld's Spring/Summer 2012 Collection Inspired by the Sea
Karl Lagerfeld unveiled his spring/summer 2012 ready to wear collection for Chanel in Paris today and the collection was nothing out of the ordinary. Simple outlines and lose cuts. Conservative meets chic.

With Karl, we know what to expect as he keeps true to the Chanel brand with the tweed jackets and little black dresses. The majority of the collection was white, off white or nude with some black thrown in for good measure.

Florence Welch performed during the white wonderland. The stage replaced the massive iceberg and volcanic landscapes of seasons past. There was a simplistic elegance to the collection. Lots of white, lots of pearls. Karl not only used layered pearls around the neckline, but also as belts. Very Chanel.
