Karl Lagerfeld and Kanye West In Talks for Collaboration?
The two figures were spotted at the Mercer Hotel in trendy SoHo, NYC for a “business lunch,” according to the New York Post. It doesn’t specify what they ordered for food (diamonds?), but the source says Yeezy and K.L. were “in a deep conversation, then appeared to be getting devices out to discuss design ideas.”

No confirmation by way of a formal Chanel press release or a Kanye 25-tweets-long-monologue rant on the rapper’s Twitter, but the two have worked together before (Karl shot Kanye for the Little Black Jacket exhibition—concept: celebs in Chanel jackets—opening in London a few weeks back) and certainly graze shoulders running in the same fashion circles.

Highly doubt they’d be just throwing around and trading official design ideas in a public space (too luxurious for mortal eyes, you know?). It’s more likely Kanye, a self-proclaimed fashion student, just wanted to bask in the afterglow of The Kaiser and bond over their mutual love for fashion, glamour, and someone else who’s name starts with the letter “K.”

Speaking of Kim, maybe Kanye wanted to see if Karl would be interested in designing a custom-dress for a future wedding? Or maybe he just wanted to get Karl’s thoughts on what he should dress Kim in tomorrow.

It’s nice to see the two getting along again. Apparently Kanye had annoyed Karl, a regular Mercer guest, while the rapper was recording Watch the Throne with Jay-Z at the hotel. It was too loud for the 79-year-old.
