Later this month, Karl Lagerfeld will host a private cocktail reception at the Selfridges in London on July 24 for an unveiling of his signature brand Karl Lagerfeld Paris.
Karl will specifically debut both the men’s and women’s collection which features t-shirts with his face on it and other images of the designer in his trademark suit and sunglasses.
The Karl Lagerfeld collection also features an Olympic themed capsule collection under the banner Team Karl, because nothing says the London Olympics like an old German man in a George Washington wig.
The store’s window display will be devoted to the designer and his Team Karl collection.
Team Karl is produced in collaboration with design agency I Love Dust. The I Love Dust collection feature t-shirts with Karl’s signature slogans like “you will never find out my true age” and also “Sunglasses are like eye shadow, they make you look pretty and younger.”
Karl will launch his new collection at Selfridges in a swanky private cocktail party.
Lagerfeld is working overtime lately. He just debuted the Autumn/Winter 2012 Chanel couture collection last week at Paris’ Grand Palais.
Karl’s also been popping off some new one-liners. Apparently, he’s over celebrities wearing pieces from the couture Chanel collection.
“It’s not a red-carpet opportunity,” Karl Lagerfeld, “We’ve had clients cancel an order after seeing their dress on a celebrity.”
