Just because Christian Louboutin gets a musem exhibit, doesn’t mean you need one too, Mr. Lagerfeld.  Regardless, it’s happening and it actually sounds pretty cool.

Chanel wants to launch a show in Tokyo, Japan that will launch for 7 weeks, beginning in March and will feature an exhibition will comprise around 100 photos of celebrities wearing Chanel tweed jackets, from the forthcoming book, “The Little Black Jacket” which features celebrities wearing Chanel tweed jackets.

If that’s something that interests you, get yourself over to Japan, where Chanel is also planning to open a pop-up show and launch the winter couture show.

This new venture is to “reaffirm the brand’s commitment to Japan and re-boost its image in a vital market,” says Chanel’s president Bruno Pavlovsky.

Maybe Chanel is making the move to Japan because of a recent diss from Roberto Cavalli, who called Chanel an “old ladies” brand.

Roberto Cavalli just opened a boutique in Japan, in the trendy-young district of Aoyama claiming, “I want it to be that [shoppers] come to find me. They shouldn’t find me by accident walking in Ginza. I think this is a really winning strategy. I will demonstrate this to the dear Messrs, Chanel or other people like that. Fine, you dress the grandmothers and the mothers and I’ll dress their kids,” says Cavalli.

What do you think? Is Chanel only for “grandmothers”? Check your grandmothers closet for tweed jackets and get back to me.
