How can you go wrong with Chanel, right?

Kate Bosworth was a vision in white at the red carpet premiere for Another Happy Day at the Deauville American Film Festival in France this weekend.

She looked stunning donning this beautiful white dress, which she paired with Christian Louboutin nude pumps. Her hair was swept back in a formal updo and it looked as if she had toned down her platinum blonde hair. If there’s a look Kate does well on the carpet, it’s simple chic. Never underestimate simplicity.

Overall she was a perfect 10!

We may have celebrated Labor Day yesterday in the States; but the age-old rule is that you’re not supposed to wear white after Labor Day. Clearly, that rule is retired, and it certainly doesn’t apply to celebrities, red carpets, or in general during good weather. Basically, you can wear white again. Hooray.

But wear white with caution. Just because you can wear white after Labor Day doesn’t mean you should dust off those white linen shorts you wore to the beach five years and start wearing them to work. There are some rules to wear white after Labor Day.

Thicker fabric always works well, especially now that the weather is cooler in some parts of the country. Hello, global warming! If you are wearing a thin material dress, make sure to pair it with a light jacket to give it a fall feel. The entire point is not to look like you are in the Caribbean, unless you are…obviously!

Kate recently spoke to Blackbook Magazine about her style and some of her guidelines while picking her always-stylish outfits.

“I’ve always seen fashion as embracing the individual, although yes, I understand that there are parts of the industry that aren’t so welcoming,” she tells BlackBook magazine. “But I look at the Proenza Schouler boys … they’re so kind and they make such brilliant designs. The Rodarte sisters, too. It may be idealistic, but I like to think that goodness rises to the top.”

Kate reveals that her father worked at Zegna and Talbots when she was younger and she spent her younger days shadowing her dad.

“My first ‘Bring Your Daughter to Work Day’ was spent understanding the difference in quality and texture between various fabrics,” she tells BlackBook. “I’ve had an appreciation for good workmanship from a young age.”
