Kate Middleton is one of those rare fashion unicorns: despite being a veritable, millions-copying-her-wedding-dress fashion icon, she has not posed voluntarily for a magazine cover and she largely styles herself.

Many are in awe of the Duchess' ability to pick outfits that are amazing without a team of professionals sweating over it, including Derek Lam, who would love to get his hands on her closet. As he told Grazia:

"I think she’s done such an amazing job. She doesn’t have a professional choosing her wardrobe which I think is such a rarity. She does tailoring really well and everybody can take away from how she has made style choices which are both suitable to her position and her body shape. I do love her the most when she is in that ethereal mode in a chiffon or Grecian style dress. I’d love to put her in something like that."

I'm sure any designer would love to dress Kate: she single handedly overloaded the Reiss website last year when she wore one of  their dresses, and has been deemed responsible for Zara and UK brand Whistles, which saw a double-digit spike in sales after Kate wore one of their dresses at the Olympics Closing Ceremony.
